Your tree and other decorations are probably safely stored away for another year. Those New Year’s resolutions that you were so adamant about are now a distant memory. We could easily say this is a let-down time of year, but it isn’t! This is the time of year that we need to allow Scripture to lead us. This weekend you heard the story of how John the Baptist led Andrew and Peter to Jesus. If you listened to the gospel intently, you will have noticed that TWO disciples were first introduced to Jesus when John said: “Look, the Lamb of God!” One is Andrew, the other is not named (later in the Gospel, Andrew told his brother Peter about Jesus). We are not told who this “other” disciple is. It is not a mistake. YOU are the other disciple! It was easy to see Jesus prior to CHRISTmas. You saw HIM everywhere. Take the Jesus who was so easy to see everywhere a few weeks ago and look for HIM again. HE is still there waiting for you. The CHRISTmas season is not just once a year, but every day, every year. Let’s not pack CHRISTmas away, but keep CHRIST a part of us every day. Our goal is $28,000.00. We have pledged $24,736.14. We still need $3,263.86 to meet our goal. If you have not made your pledge, it’s not too late. Won’t you take an envelope today and help our parish meet its goal? Thank you for your continued generosity. CCD HIGHLIGHTS: Third Grade Children’s Mass is January 18th at 10:30 AM.
