Sunday 21st December 2014 4th Sunday of Advent
See The Big Picture.
My soul magnifies the Lord, and my spirit rejoices in God my Saviour, for He has looked on
the humble estate of His servant. For behold, from now on all generations will call me
blessed; for He who is mighty has done great things for me, and holy is His name. And His
mercy is for those who fear Him from generation to generation. - Luke 1:46-50
With no regard for the way this would impact her short life here, Mary looked for the big
picture. She saw that this was going to save generations of humans. She felt the eternal
significance of her life and praised God that she got to be part of His plan, part of His plan
to redeem people.
No matter the suffering Mary would have in this life, she was praising God for a chance to
participate in eternity.
We in Australia are so blessed. The CMS Thursday morning prayer brought this
home to me with the following request:
Frances Cook in Santiago, Chile – Please pray for Carlos, one of the CEP
students who urgently needs heart surgery, father of three kids, one of them
three months old. Carlos is 27 and dependent on the public system which is
not a good place to be. He has to get together 14 blood donors before they will
operate!
We have much to be thankful for.
Blessings,
Rev Joe

ABM Christmas gift
Our Mission
is to build a disciple making church to transform our community and bless our nation
We do this by
proclaiming the Good News of the Gospel of Jesus Christ
in the power of His Holy Spirit;
being a welcoming church to all people;
and building the body to grow into the maturity of Christ.
If you would like to make a Christmas mission gift you may do so by
picking up an ABM envelope from the desk next to the Font. This is
supporting their work in Kenya. Details on the envelope
