PARISH PRAYER: Lord Jesus, we ask you to bless the people of our parish. Help us to know you in a new and
deeper way. Help us to listen to your Word in our daily lives. In the power of your Holy Spirit, open our hearts to
your healing grace, that we may be more faithful in following you, the Way, the Truth and the Life. Lord, bless the
families of our parish, especially those families experiencing hidden and special difficulties. Bless the children and
young people of our parish and keep them from harm. Bless those who are old. Bless those who are lonely. Be near
the poor and the sick, the unemployed and those in any need. Help those in sorrow and those in despair. Bless, protect and bring back to the ways of grace those who have lost their way. May your love be upon us as we place all our
hope in you. Amen.

THE THREE CHRISTMASES
There are three celebrations of the revelation of Jesus Christ as
Messiah and Son of God at this time of year.
The first occurs on 25th December, when we celebrate
the birth of Jesus in Bethlehem;; the Messiah visiting His
own people represented by the Shepherds.
The second is this weekend when we celebrate the
Epiphany;; the Messiah is revealed to the whole world
Represented by the three Magi or Kings.
The third is celebrated next weekend with the Feast of
the Baptism of the Lord when we see Jesus being
revealed at His Baptism by John the Baptist as the Son
of God and sharing that Sonship with us through our
Baptism as adopted children of God. Deo gratias!
