Christian Action
“THANK YOU” to the parish ministries that partnered with Christian Action to
show Christ’s love this beautiful advent season: MDO/ECC for the wonderful baby
items and diapers, CCE for the wonderful stockings full of goodies, Jr. High CCE
for the teen stocking “personal touch” items, Life Teen for the “healthy hygiene”
stocking items
What a blessing you have been to those less fortunate…we wer e able to bless
over 130 women and children of the Villa Guadalupe shelter and Aids Ministry of
Catholic Charities; The Missing Piece and clients of Christian Action with our
sponsorship/adoption program. The tree tag gifts were a blessing for: the Villa
Guadalupe shelter of Catholic Charities, The Missing Piece (a teen ministry at St.
Mary’s in La Porte), toys for sponsored families of Catholic Charities, Immaculate
Heart of Mary (our twinning parish), books for our sponsored children and the
Christian Action pantry.
Reminder: Christian Action will not be accepting donations of clothing or
household items until January 5. Please consider taking your donations to Interfaith
Caring Ministries Resale Shop at the corner of Bay Area Blvd., and Hwy 3. During
the Christmas season we make this request so our precious volunteers can take time
off to be with their families!
Please donate your shopping bags (i.e., Macy’s, Palais Royal, The Gap, Chico’s,
etc.,) to our clothing pantry. We prefer to put clothing orders in such bags. Thank
you.
Time and Talent
Water Poinsettias: A couple of people ar e needed to help water the Chr istmas
poinsettias. Watering can be done as your schedule permits. If you are interested in
this special project or other volunteer projects please call Suzanne at 281-486-0337
x110.
Stewardship Thought: In today’s Gospel reading we hear proclaimed the story of
the Annunciation, when the angel of the Lord announced to Mary that she would give
birth to Christ through the intercession of the Holy Spirit. Mary allowed God’s
messenger to speak to her. She was attentive, not afraid to enter into a dialogue, then
unconditionally obedient. Mary’s acceptance of this mystery is a stewardship model
for us. Good stewards remain open to the incursions of divine life into the normal
course of their daily lives. How open are we to the promptings of the Holy Spirit in
our own lives? What might we do this last week of Advent to be more attentive to the
Lord?
Rejoice! Christ Is Born!
As we give our highest praise to God for the
gift of our Savior, may He bless you with
joy and peace throughout the season and in
the new year.
Have A Blessed Christmas,
Fr. Bob, Fr. Ruben, Fr. Art and the Parish Staff

know. If you would like to help
with set-up or clean-up, help
serve food at the booths, perform
or help backstage in the
entertainment portion, etc., this is
a GREAT way to involve the
whole family, and a fun way for
teens to earn service hours. To
