crises that threaten the stability, peace and unity that are the joys of being a family. As the Child of Mary and Joseph will teach us in his Gospel, our own children teach us about love and wonder. They reveal to us the wonder of creation and move us to gratitude for everyone and everything God has made; children also help us realize our own capacity to love and our ability to be the means of God’s compassion and forgiveness for others to an extent we may not be aware of. May we learn the lessons of wonder and love from our children this Christmas, and so bring the light of Christmas into our homes and hearts in every season of the New Year. From the desk of Father Haft Greetings in the name of the Lord: Today we celebrate the Feast of the Holy Family of Jesus, Mary, and Joseph. This feast reminds us that Jesus grew up in the midst of a family. Family life is the foundation of all societies. It is in family where we first learn the ways of faith, and where we learn to interact and live in harmony with each other. On this Feast of the Holy Family, we pray that all families will grow closer to each other and that family life be seen as essential to all societies. May the Lord bless all families. THANK YOU THANK YOU!!! We would like to offer a huge Thank You to the parishioner who donated the two new commercial ovens for the parish hall kitchen. We are grateful for such generosity. They were used for the very first time this past weekend and worked quite well. Thanks again from St. Teresa! THE HOLY FAMILY “Behold, this child is destined for the fall and rise of many in Israel, and to be a sign that will be contradicted....” Luke 2:22-40 HOLY FAMILY BREAKFAST The St. Teresa Knights of Columbus will be hosting a Pancake Breakfast in the church hall immediately following the 10:30 am Mass on Sunday, December 28th. We hope that you will join us. This is a great way to gather and celebrate the Feast of the Holy Family! HOLY DAY OF OBLIGATION January 1st is the Solemnity of the Mother of God, a holy day of obligation. Mass will be at 9:00 am. Please come pray with us! Yours in Christ, Fr. Our belonging to a family means that each one of us, parent and child, reflects for one another the selfless, limitless and unconditional love of Christ, both in good times and bad. The Holy Family is a model for our own families as we struggle together to adapt and change and to deal with the many tensions and
