CAFÉ 3:16 - When you hear the word “Conversion,” what comes
to mind? Catholicism defines “conversion” as a life-long process
of turning one’s attention and energy toward an ever-deepening
relationship with Christ. Join us as we begin the DVD-based
program, Conversion: Following the Call of Christ, presented
by Fr. Robert Barron. Using six stories from the Bible, Fr. Barron
demonstrates how ordinary, sinful people like us are met by Jesus
and called to a better life through him.On May 17th our parish
will begin the Conversion: Following the Call of Christ program.
Join us at 9:45 on Sunday monrings in the St. Benedict

The Ascension of Our Lord, a Holy Day of Obligation, celebrates
the day that Christ, in the presence of His apostles, ascended bodily
into Heaven. The Ascension occurred on the 40th day of Easter, so
it falls on a Thursday, and thus is often called Ascension Thursday;
however, in most dioceses in the United States, the celebration of
the Ascension has been transferred to the following Sunday, six
weeks after Easter 2015.

DOMINGO DE LA ASCENSION DEL SEÑOR - 17 DE MAYO, 2015
Primera: Hch 1,1-11; Segunda: Ef 4,113; Evangelio: Mc 16, 15-20.

Special Collection - May 23-24
There will be a special collection for Catholic Relief
Services to assist with the relief efforts in Nepal.
CRS has made an initial commitment of $825,000 to
relief efforts in Nepal, a figure that is expected to rise
as the needs become clearer. The official death toll is
over 6,000 – with thousands more injured — but few
outlying villages have been reached and widespread
destruction, especially in hillside settlements, is
feared. Your generosity is greatly appreciated.
Bring us all your
plastic bottle caps!
For the month of
May the Parish
Council of Catholic Women will be
collecting plastic bottle caps. The
caps will be recycled to raise money
to buy wheelchairs for disabled
children. A box will be in the
Administrative Hall. FYI the website
is www.capsoflove.com.
