GROUP EXERCISE CLASS DESCRIPTIONS
Cardio
Mind and Body
ACTIVE OLDER ADULT (AOA) CARDIO - Enjoy fun, low-impact exercise as you move
through a variety of exercises designed for active older adults. Increase your
muscular strength and range of movement, which will help you with activities of
daily living. Exercises may use hand-held weights, elastic tubing with handles and a
ball for resistance.
DEVOTION IN MOTION - Devotion in Motion is a YMCA inspired cycling class
with a focus on uplifting music and positive energy.
CYCLE - Our popular indoor cycling class "geared" for fun and fitness. A heart rate
monitor is recommended. Great calorie burner & cardio conditioning. Our indoor
Cycle classes simulate outdoor riding with sprinting, hill climbing and other
techniques.
MAT PILATES - This is a conditioning program that improves muscle control,
flexibility, coordination, strength and tone. Based on proper breathing, good
posture and intense concentration, the exercises are performed on a mat.
CARDIO COMBO - This cardio conditioning could include step, hi-lo, BOSU,
kickboxing, running, jump rope or other innovative cross-training techniques.
CARDIO KICKBOXING - Strength, endurance and interval moves are all part of this
workout. Kick, punch and jab your way to a healthier lifestyle with this upbeat
workout. This class will improve overall fitness, coordination and stamina.
DEEP WATER EXERCISE- This is a complete cardio workout using buoyancy belts.
Zero impact, simple movements and a challenge with the resistance of the water
make this a class for all levels.
FIERCE FUNK CARDIO DANCE - Fierce Funk is a new and exciting dance-fitness
program which combines street style funk movements with a contemporary hip-hop
feel for an inspiring, fun, and complete workout.
MASTERS SWIMMING TEAM - Masters Swimming is a great workout for anyone
who wants to incorporate swimming into their regular exercise routine or who is
training for a competition. Participants in Masters work on the next level of swimming for them: technique, stamina, endurance, lap swimming more effectively and
much more. Adults looking to get into triathlons are encouraged to participate.
NIGHTCLUB CARDIO® - The lights are low and the moves are simple, yet effective.
Somewhere between the music and the Soul Train line, you begin to forget you are
even working out!
SHALLOW WATER EXERCISE- This water workout consists of cardio, resistance
training and core work in shallow water.
SILVERSNEAKERS - This class allows you to sit and be fit! Meant for our very
mature members that want to maintain range of motion and strength in their older
years. This class is perfect for our members who require wheelchairs and/or
walkers.
STEP - Enhance your cardio endurance in this high energy step class. Workouts are
choreographed to offer full body exercise with movements on and around a step.
Benefits also include improved coordination and balance.
ZUMBA® - This cardio-Latin fusion class features aerobic interval training to
maximize fat burning and total body toning, all to incredible music with moves that
are easy to learn.
ZUMBA KIDS® - This 30 minute class introduces all the excitement and dance
moves from Zumba to children. This is a great class to get the kids moving.








FAMILY YOGA - Build a strong body, mind and spirit through Yoga. This class
incorporates Yoga postures, breathing exercises and a focused mind to improve
balance and flexibility. Moves the whole family can do!
YOGA - Yoga builds a strong body, mind and spirit. This class incorporates
Yoga postures, breathing exercises and a mind focus to improve balance,
strength and flexibility. Chair support or yoga props are offered to safely
perform exercises. Restorative breathing exercises and final relaxation will
promote stress reduction and mental clarity.
Strength
ABS/CORE - Thirty minutes of toning and strengthening focused specifically on
the body’s core muscles (abs, back, and hips).
BODYPUMPTM - Designed for all fitness levels, this barbell class delivers real
results, real fast. This athletic based workout uses barbells with adjustable
weights to work every major muscle group in the body. With motivating music,
this class strengthens, tones and defines the body as nothing else can.
BODYVIVETM - A cross-training, whole body group fitness workout that uses
fitness balls, tubes, and body weight to boost fitness and core strength. It is a
great class for those new to fitness, but can still challenge all with a strength,
flexibility, and core workout.
BOOTCAMP - If you like variety, this is the workout for you! Enjoy a circuit
workout that is great for all levels. Activities include speed and agility drills,
athletic step, running/power walking, jump rope, abs and stretching.
CYCLE AND STRENGTH - This class takes the great cardio workout of our cycling classes and complements it with strength and toning exercises. Here you
can get the best of both worlds, all in one class.
CXWORX - Looking for a short, sharp workout that'll inspire you to the next
level of fitness, while strengthening and toning your body? CXWORX™ tightens and tones your core and improves your functional strength.
R.I.P.P.E.DTM - The One Stop Body Shock™ is a “Plateau Proof Fitness Formula”
that helps you to create continuity, consistency and challenge in each and
every class. Each workout provides a uniquely different emphasis or system
response, so your body never gets used to the format.
If you are new to class, please let your instructor know so they can help set you up for success!
Classes with a “X” on the schedule are in jeopardy of being cancelled due to low attendance. Class with an average below 12 participants may be
discontinued the following month.
Minimum age for participation is 12 with the exception of family and youth classes.
Please do not enter classes more than 10 minutes after they have begun for your safety and to be respectful of others.
Max number is 18 for Cycle, 25 for water classes & 40 for others. Once classes meet capacity the class will be closed.
All classes are 55 minutes unless otherwise noted. Classes noted with a “€” are 30 minutes.
Unless noted as Intermediate or Advanced, our classes are suitable for all fitness levels.
In the event of instructor absence, every effort is made to ensure the same format. However, we reserve the right to offer an alternative format if needed.
