Welcome!
Msgr Hanley, the staff
and parishioners of
Holy Family Catholic
Church welcome you!
Whether you are
here for a few days,
weeks, or months - we
are happy that you
have chosen us to be
your parish away
from home. Those of
us who reside here
permanently are few
in number - perhaps
fifteen percent of
those who attend our
weekend liturgies.
We are inspired by
the many thousands
who join us in
celebrating Mass,
both on Sunday and
during the week. The
beautiful example of
faith you give us by
your presence
strengthens our
commitment to serve
your spiritual needs.
We especially invite
you to worship Our
Lord in our
Eucharistic Adoration
Chapel located to the
right of the Church as
you leave.
We hope your stay
on our lovely island is
enjoyable, we pray
that your journey
home is safe and we
look forward to your
return visit to us your parish away
from home.

DONATE & DEDICATE A NEW HYMNAL - EVERY ONE, BUY ONE
You have the opportunity to donate a new hymnal. Our goal is “Every One, Buy
One”, meaning that if EACH PARISHIONER DONATES A HYMNAL, this will
help substantially to offset the total cost of the new worship aids. Cost per hymnal is
$25. You can handwrite your own plaque “in honor of” or “in memory of” anyone
you choose. The plaque will be placed on the inside cover of a hymnal; one plaque per
$25 donation. They are available in the parish office during office hours. Please bring a
check payable to Holy Family or cash for the number of hymnals you wish to
purchase. Thank you! 240 Hymnals have already been Donated & Dedicated our goal is to have at least 1000 (of the 1450) Hymnals Donated &
Dedicated.
MEMORIAL DONATION OPPORTUNITY
Holy Family is in need of new vestments - chasubles & stoles (for the celebrant and
concelebrant) and dalmatic & stole (for the deacon). This is a wonderful way to
remember your loved ones - deceased or living - and these new vestments will be
present at future liturgies for years to come. If you are interested in donating to
Holy Family Catholic Church in this manner, please contact Father Hanley, 785-2895
x229 or [email protected].

ACTIVE
PARISHIONER
STATUS:
We receive many
requests
for
parishioners to be
godparents
or
sponsors for the
Sacraments
of
Baptism
and
Confirmation and to
rightfully enjoy the
number of services
offered at Holy
Family Catholic
Church.
Part of that
request is to be able
to verify that a
person is an “active
member” of Holy
Family. Because of
the nature of our
congregation,
having so many
visitors,
it
is
difficult to know
everyone.
An
“active
member” of Holy
Family Catholic
Church must fulfill
these requirements:
1. Be registered.
2. S u p p o rts
th e
Church via the
envelope system
or
electronic
payment via their
bank.
3. Faithfully attends
Mass on Sunday
and Holy Days.
4. Participates in
parish activities
when possible.
While assessments
of an inquirer’s
status will be made
individually, the
above are the main
factors that will be
considered
in
making
that
determination.

Reverend William F. Pentis
$1,500 Memorial Scholarship
The SCCCW Reverend William F. Pentis Memorial Scholarship was
established in 2009 to honor Father Pentis, an Oratorian Father, who
served as Moderator for the SCCCW, providing spiritual support for
more than 30 years. His work with Council was a labor of love.
The SCCCW mission is to respond with Gospel values to the
needs of the Church and society in the modern world. It strives to
support, empower, and educate all Catholic women in Spirituality,
Leadership and Service. The scholarship was, therefore, created to
encourage and promote such themes among South Carolina
Catholic females graduating from area high schools and planning to
attend an institution of higher education (e.g., university, college,
junior college, or technical school) within South Carolina. The
merit-based scholarship grants one $1,500 award to its recipient.
An application must be submitted no later than April 15, 2015.
Please visit www.scccw.org for complete information
and to download the Application Form.
Contact SCCCW President Marlene Grover at [email protected]
or 843-283-4445 for questions.

impact of the love and life of families on our society. The Diocese
of Charleston - Office of Family Life is organizing a trip that will
include transportation and lodging from September 21-28,
2015. Registrations must be done by the individual or family online
