THE PARISH OF ST. ALOYSIUS
Jersey City, NJ
PARISH MISSION STATEMENT
We, the people of St. Aloysius Parish, are united in one faith in Jesus Christ
and His Church. We are proud to be Catholic and express this faith in the
Roman Catholic tradition. As a local church, we encourage the people
already here to welcome those newly arriving to become a unified and
loving family of Christians. We provide for the continuing educational and
formational needs of our youth and adults. In this unity of faith, we desire
to evangelize, to inspire lay leadership and to nurture a sense of ownership
of mission and ministries that incorporate our multi-ethnic traditions.

Sharing God’s Blessing Annual Appeal
We started the 2015 Sharing God’s Blessing Annual Appeal last
February 7th & 8th. This appeal replaced the Archbishop Annual Appeal. Our goal for this year is $42,086. So far, we
have received 96 pledges totaling over $12,000. Please consider making a pledge so our Parish can reach its goal. Envelopes and Brochures are available by the vestibules. You may
drop your pledge envelope in the Sunday collection basket or at
the parish office. Your continued support and generosity to the
Sharing God’s Blessings Annual Appeal are greatly appreciated.
As we continue our Lenten journey, we invite everyone to
our celebration of the Sacrament of Reconciliation every
Wednesdays of Lent at 7:00 pm. Lent is a special time of repentance and renewal. It is a special time for all of us to acknowledge our brokenness and our need of Jesus in our life to
make us whole once again. It is a special time to hear Jesus
says to us in the Sacrament of Reconciliation: “Your sins are
forgiven . . . stand up and walk again.”
Also as part of your Lenten devotions, we invite you to join
us for our Scripture Sharing every Tuesdays of Lent at 9:00
am, Stations of the Cross on Fridays of Lent at 9:00 am in English and 7:00 pm in Spanish. Join us at these Lenten services
as we continue our Lenten journey.
The Transfiguration Gospel this weekend reminds us that
the road to glory is the road of the cross. We must climb Mount
Calvary first with Jesus, before we can climb with Him at Mount
Tabor. Without the cross, there would be no resurrection.
God Bless,
Fr. Juancho

even suggestions for simple meals. We collect the
Rice Bowls at our Holy Thursday Liturgy.
