[email protected] 803.575.0081 Pro-Life News Here’s a fact to keep in the front of your mind – your prayer presence at abortion facilities saves lives. Flower and Plants Former Planned Parenthood workers have said that the no-show rate for abortion appointments goes as high as 75% when people are peacefully praying outside. That’s 3 out of 4 moms who never make it to their appointments because of your presence! Opportunities to remember or honor loved ones and special occasions with flowers and plants for our church and sanctuary are available for upcoming weekends. For more information or to check on the availability of dates, please call Silvia at 788-0811, ext. 318. Sandwich Sunday For the abortion industry, this means fewer customers and less money. Without income, the abortion centers eventually go out of business. The Sandwich Committee makes and collects sandwiches for the needy on the second Sunday of every month. The next date is Sunday, April 12. Sandwiches may be made in Gillin Hall or made in advance and left in the refrigerator in the kitchen. The sandwiches, which are donated to the Oliver Gospel Mission, are picked up after the Sunday noon Mass. Please call 736-6453 for more info. If you’re hesitant to go out and pray ... think of that 75% statistic. How encouraging it is to know that overcoming your reluctance could just possibly save a life from abortion! Thou Shall Not Park There Just a friendly reminder to please observe the handicap, reserved parking, and fire lanes and to refrain from double-parking at the church and school facilities. Violations may result in fines or towing expenses. Although Project Hope filled the majority of the evening, we want Father Sandy and Father Javier to know how much the Knights appreciate them being members of our council. We are blessed with their support and understanding. Last week we mentioned that the heartbeat of the Knights of Columbus is service. This week we want to mention that the Knights of Columbus are also pro-family. The Knights see the family as the core, foundation, and fabric for all of society. Although the council meetings are for the members, many councils sponsor activities with the family in mind. It’s a great time to gather together as Catholic Christians and members of the Mystical Body of Christ. Realizing that the youth are an integral part of society, the Knights seek to foster the development of the child from adolescence to adulthood. Asking for the intercession of the Holy Family is at the center of prayer for the Knights when it comes to family life. Hopefully, our commitment to service and family sparks an interest in you. If so, call Membership Chairman Al Lucitti (803) 736-4924 or our Grand Knight Tony Zammarrelli (803) 738-0862 or any other Knight. We are planning a degree ceremony April 23, 2015. This month we offer congratulations to Madison Pobis: Youth of the Month, Jose Elias Vargas: Knight of the Month and Gregory and Dee Bundick: Family of the Month.
