Dear Parishioners,
Peace and blessings!
It is hard to believe
that summer is quickly
coming to an end. This week
our teachers at Immaculata
School will be returning for
meetings and getting ready
to welcome our children the following week, with
school beginning officially on August 20th.
This weekend is our St. Francis collection for
Immaculata School. We are most grateful for your
generous outpouring of support this past year. While
this is a tremendous help, we are still looking to our
church and in particular our YELLOW envelopes so
that we can continue to maintain this beautiful
church. You will hear more about this in our bi-yearly
report later this month. Now if we could only get
businesses to accept a thank you and a smile for
services, we would be in a much better place.
St. Frances Cabrini did that and it worked, but then
she is a saint. When she got a bill, she wrote PAID on
it and sent it back. It always worked.
Don't forget our evening of prayer for
vocations on Friday at 7:00.

YEAR OF CONSECRATED LIFE: Pope Francis
has designated this year as the "Year of Consecrated
Life". As Capuchin Franciscans, we here at
Immaculate Conception in Hendersonville invite you
to join with us in celebrating consecrated life and in
particular, to pray for vocations. August 14th from
7:00 to 9:00 pm in the main church we will have
Eucharistic Adoration, prayer, scripture, music and
quiet time. Come and join us with your prayer for
vocations, be it for the two hours or just a few minutes.

DECOLORES! All Cursillistas, their spouses and

our WNC Ultreya. July was a great gathering of
several parishes, upon the requests of many, lets do it
again. On Friday, August 28th at 6:30pm in the school
gym there will be a potluck dinner, so bring your
favorite dish or drink to share. The Ultreya starts at

AUGUST 9, 2015
IS THIS YOUR YEAR? Couples married 25 or
50 years this year will be honored at an Anniversary
Mass held on Sunday, October 18, 2015 at St. John
Neumann Catholic Church in Charlotte. Mass begins
at 2pm and will be followed by a reception. Simply
call our church office to be included, registration
deadline is Wednesday, September 9th.
Faith Formation News 2015-2016
Registration: Registration for new children is
currently taking place. You may pick up a form at
the office or download it from our website and return it with a check. If your child was enrolled last
year please mail the check in with your children’s
name and grade on the memo line.
MINISTRY OF THE SICK: If you are unable to get
to Mass and would like to receive the Eucharist, please
call Dr. Colin Thomas at 692-8291 or the church office
at 693 6901 and we will arrange for an extraordinary
minister to visit you at home or in a nursing home. If
you are hospitalized at Pardee Hospital, all you have to
do is register as a Catholic and you will be visited
daily. If you are hospitalized at Park Ridge Hospital,
you should call Colin at 692-8291 or the church office
at 693-6901 to arrange for a visit. If you are
hospitalized at Mission Hospital in Asheville, you
should call the Basilica of St Lawrence at
828-252-6042 to arrange for a visit.
Faith formation grades 1-5: Sessions begin on
Sunday August 30th with a parent meeting at the
gym at 10:15 am.
Confirmation 2015: Our Confirmation date is
Wednesday, October 14th at 7pm. We will meet on
Sundays in the gym beginning August 23rd.
Sponsors are invited to attend to help their candidate
with the study guide. It promises to be a fun
morning!
Catechists are still needed please consider giving us
a hand. God will bless you abundantly and you will
grow in faith and joy!

LIFE TEEN High School Youth Ministry
Life Teen is open to all those in high school, including those just graduated 8th grade and
entering high school in the fall. We will not be doing regular Life Nights on Sunday nights during the Summer. We will continue to have Mass on Sunday at 5pm.

Mass & Mocha—Tuesdays, 8:30am Mass in the chapel and then we walk
downtown for coffee and hang out time.
Thursdays Adoration—Every Thursday is Eucharistic Adoration in the chapel
from 9am—9pm. Come make a visit and spend time in prayer.

19º Domingo del Tiempo Ordinario
El capítulo 6 del Evangelio de Juan sigue profundizando en el discurso del Pan de Vida. La dureza de
corazón de algunos judíos de reconocer que Jesús ha bajado del cielo da la oportunidad a una explicación
que a mi juicio es una verdadera evangelización para las personas de su tiempo y para nosotros ahora. La
insistencia de Jesús para que alcancemos a comprender de dónde viene y quién lo ha enviado da pie a
comprender su enseñanza. Primero, hay que tener fe, ya que sin ella el corazón se cierra. Seguida de la
relación personal con él, la Resurrección, vida para siempre a su lado. ¿Crees esto?
Jesús explica que los que comieron el maná en el desierto murieron. Pero, él es alimento de vida, es pan vivo que
nos da la vida eterna. "'Yo soy el pan vivo que ha bajado del cielo', y decían: '¿No es éste, Jesús, el hijo de José? ¿Acaso no
conocemos a su padre y a su madre? ¿Cómo nos dice ahora que ha bajado del cielo?'" (Jn 6, 41). Sería bueno que
pensáramos por qué o para qué comulgamos cada domingo y entre semana. Ojalá que no necesitemos tanta explicación, sino
que veamos la divinidad de Jesús hecho hombre pero a la vez Dios mismo. Dejemos de murmurar de las cosas divinas y
pidamos al Espíritu Santo nos dé el don de sabiduría para reconocer el poder de Dios y vivir haciendo su voluntad. Esos
deseos los tendremos si compartimos la paz que recibimos al participar en la Eucaristía. Jesús nos lo prometió al decir: "El
que coma de este pan vivirá para siempre. Y el pan que yo les voy a dar es mi carne para que el mundo tenga vida" (Jn 6,
51). ¡Así sea!

Nuestra iglesia de la Inmaculada Concepción
actualmente esta tomando inscripciones para
el nuevo año de catequesis de Primera Comunión y Confirmación en la oficina de la iglesia
durante la semana. El costo por joven y niño será de
$35, y Se les pedirá los padres de familia que entreguen una copia de la fe bautismo al momento de la
registración. Las clases para la Primera Comunión
comenzaran el domingo, 30 de agosto de 12:00pm1:00pm en la escuela de la Inmaculada. (La clase de
Confirmación comenzara el miércoles, 9 de septiembre en el gimnasio de la Inmaculada y será de 7:00pm8:30pm) . Para mas información, favor de tomar llamar a oficina de la iglesia durante la semana.

Queridos Feligreses,
En Su Paz,
Es difícil creer que el verano está llegando a
su final tan rápidamente. Esta semana,
nuestras maestras y maestros de la
Inmaculada Concepción estarán regresando
para algunas reuniones y estarán preparándose
para darle la bienvenida a nuestros niños durante la
siguiente semana, con nuestra escuela oficialmente
comenzando el jueves, 20 de agosto.
Este fin de semana se llevara a cabo nuestra
colecta de San Francisco para apoyar a nuestra
escuela de la Inmaculada. Estamos muy agradecidos
por sus generosas muestras de apoyo que hemos
recibido durante este año pasado. Mientras esto es
una ayuda tremenda, aun estamos solicitando la
ayuda de nuestros feligreses, y en particular para
nuestros sobrecitos AMARILLOS para que podamos
seguir dándole el mantenimiento necesario a
nuestra hermosa iglesia. Ustedes escucharan más
sobre esto en nuestro reporte bi-anual a fines de
este mes. Ahora si solamente pudiéramos conseguir
que algunos negocios aceptaran un agradecimiento
y una sonrisa por servicios, pudiéramos estará en un
estado mucho mejor. San Francisco de Cabrini hizo
esto y le funciono, pero por otra parte, ella es una
santa. Cuando ella recibía una factura, ella le
escribía PAGADO y lo regresaba. Siempre le
funciono.
No se olviden que la noche de oración por las
vocaciones es el próximo viernes, 14 de agosto a las
7:00pm.

El PROGRAMA MIGRANTE DE TELAMON
HEAD START: Ya esta inscribiendo a los niños de 6
semanas a 5 años de edad de familias agrícolas
inmigrantes. El centro está abierto de lunes a viernes
de 6:30 AM a 5:30 PM. Para más información, visite

PUERTA PARA DISCAPACITADOS
Nuestra Iglesia de Inmaculada Concepción ha
instalado una puerta para discapacitados, la cual se
encuentra entre el elevador y nuestra Capilla. Antes de
entra a la iglesia, ustedes encontraran un botón a su
mano derecha que puede ser prensado para que la
puerta se abra automáticamente. Esto es algo muy útil
para los quienes se estacionan en la parte posterior de
nuestra iglesia y usan el elevador para llegar a nuestro
templo principal.

EL BAUTISMO
Los bautizos son el primer domingo del mes, después de
la Misa de la 1:30 PM. La clase de preparación, que es
un requisito para los padres y padrinos, tendrá lugar el
sábado a las 10 AM, en el Salón San Francisco. Por favor
lleven una copia del acta de nacimiento (No se aceptan
tarjetas, tiene que ser una acta con ambos nombres de
los papás). Requisitos para ser padrinos: Ser bautizado
y tener la intención de asumir las responsabilidades, tener
uso de razón, haber cumplido 18 años, estar confirmado,
haber hecho su Primera Comunión y llevar una vida de
fe. Los padrinos han de ser solteros o casados por la
Iglesia Católica. No pueden vivir en unión libre, ya que
deben de ser modelos de vida cristiana para los ahijados.
Para preguntas favor de llamar a Feliciano de la oficina al
693-6901. Los niños deben de tener la edad de 0 a 6
años. Si son mayores deberán atender la clase de la
Primera Comunión y un mes antes de terminar la
Primera Comunión serán Bautizados.

Para pedir una Misa por la intención de un ser querido,
difunto o vivo, llame a las oficinas de la iglesia al
693-6901 en horas laborales (lunes a jueves, 8:30AM4:30 PM, y viernes 8:30 AM-1:00 PM). Se necesita pedir
la Misa con al menos cuatro meses de anticipo. Se
acostumbra dar una ofrenda.
ALCOHÓLICOS ANÓNIMOS
Es una comunidad de hombres y mujeres que comparten
su mutua experiencia, fortaleza y esperanza para resolver
su problema común y ayudar a otros a recuperarse del
alcoholismo. El único requisito para ser miembro de
A.A. es tener el deseo de dejar la bebida. Para mas
información sobre los horarios, favor de llamar a Enrique

TIENDA DE AVE MARIA: Contamos con Biblias,
rosarios, medallas, libros de oración, crucifijos, estatuas,
tarjetas de oración, regalos sacramentales y mucho mas!
Estamos localizados en la calle 718 Oakland, cual se
encuentra atrás de la escuela de la Inmaculada. Para mas

funcionamiento son de martes a viernes de 10AM-5PM.
¿POR QUÉ DEBO REGISTRARME EN MI PARROQUIA? Registrarse es muy importante para poder inscribir
a sus hijos en el colegio Immaculata, para el matrimonio,
para bautizos, Quinceañeras, y para cartas de recomendación (Inmigración) de la Iglesia diciendo que usted pertenece a nuestra congregación. En los archivos parroquiales estará su nombre y será fácil encontrarlo cuando usted solicite
algo. Cada mes se le enviaran los sobres para la limosna
con su nombre y cuando utiliza los sobres de la donación, la
oficina parroquial reconoce que usted es un miembro activo
de nuestra congregación. La cantidad donada no importa, su
ayuda sí. El paquete de registración lo pueden encontrar en
el cuarto de las novia (a un lado de baño de las mujeres), y
también puede ser encontrado en la oficina de la iglesia.

LA PRESENTACIÓN DE LOS NIÑOS
Cada segundo domingo del mes se invita a los niños y
niñas que cumplen los tres años ese mes para recibir
una bendición especial, junto con sus padres y
padrinos. Al igual que José y María cuando llevaron al
Niño Jesús al templo para consagrarlo al Señor,
también reconocemos que los hijos son de Dios, y a Su
servicio y cuidado se los encomendamos. Para poder
participar, deberá darle al Padre Roberto un
papelito con el nombre del niño o la niña
claramente escrito antes de empezar la Misa. El
Padre Roberto los invitará a subir al santuario después
de la celebración de la Eucaristía.
INFORMACIÓN SOBRE DONDE CONSEGUIR AYUDA
Si quiere saber a donde y como conseguir ayuda para
atención médica, cuidado de niños, necesidades
básicas como comida, alojamiento, luz y agua,
consejería, u otros servicios humanitarios, solo tiene
que marcar el 2-1-1 y explicarle a la operadora cual es
su necesidad. Se habla español de 3 a 7 PM, y le darán
el nombre, dirección y teléfono de la agencia donde
puedan prestarle ayuda.
AVISO Puede conseguir muebles, ropa y artículos
para el hogar en el depósito del Buen Samaritano, a
un lado del Colegio Inmaculada. Abrimos los martes
de 5PM a 7PM, y los sábados de 10AM a 12PM.
También si usted tiene muebles, artículos para donar
en buena condición llame a Feliciano de la oficina para
hacer su donación. 693-6901.
MINISTERIO DE CUIDADO DE LOS ENFERMOS Si usted tiene algún familiar o conocido de la
comunidad que se encuentre enfermo y desea que se le
visité o se le lleve la Santa Comunión, bien sea en la
casa donde éste reside u hospital, puede comunicarse
con Feliciano de la oficina al 693-6901.

Nuestra iglesia de la Inmaculada Concepción cuenta con
un puesto de oportunidades de trabajos para personas
quienes estén buscando un empleo o para quienes estén
necesitando trabajadores. Este puesto de trabajos está
colocado en la parte exterior del segundo piso de la iglesia, al lado izquierdo de donde está la entrada principal
de la oficina de la iglesia. Si ustedes desean poner un
