Lantana, Florida Jesus cured many who are sick with various diseases. February 8, 2015 Holy Spirit Catholic Church February 8, 2015 Page 2 Fifth Sunday in Ordinary Time [The LORD] tells the number of the stars and calls them by name. —Psalm 147:4 HEALING MINISTRY During Jesus' ministry "he cured many who were sick with various diseases, and he drove out many demons." This is the case in today's Gospel. Jesus fulfills the vision of Psalm 147: "He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds." Jesus knew, however; that he couldn't possibly heal all the illness in the world. No matter how many people he cured or how many hours he ministered, there always would be more suffering people like Job who craved his healing touch. His primary mission was not to rid the world of all suffering. His "purpose" was to preach the coming of the reign of God that heals, yes, but ultimately transcends and transforms earthly suffering. With Paul, Jesus could have said, "Woe to me if I do not preach" that good news. Copyright© J. S. Paluch Co. PASTOR Rev. Kevin C. Nelson PAROCHIAL VICAR Rev. Giuseppe Savaia PRIEST IN RESIDENCE Rev. Do You Know How to Recognize Heart Attack Symptoms? A heart attack usually occurs when there is blockage in one of the heart’s arteries that supplies blood to the heart muscle itself. This is an emergency that requires quick action and immediate medical treatment in order to lessen heart damage and save a life. Not all heart attacks begin with sudden, crushing chest pain. Symptoms may begin slowly, causing mild pain and discomfort. They can occur at rest or while you’re active. Depending on your age, gender, and other medical conditions, symptoms may be more or less severe. Common symptoms and warning signs may include: Chest discomfort that feels like pressure, fullness, or a squeezing pain in the center of your chest; it lasts for more than a few minutes, or goes away and comes back. Pain and discomfort that extend beyond your chest to other parts of your upper body; one or both arms, back, neck, stomach, teeth, and jaw. Unexplained shortness of breath, with or without chest discomfort. Other symptoms, such as cold sweats, nausea or vomiting, lightheadedness, anxiety, indigestion, and unexplained fatigue A heart attack is a serious condition and requires immediate medical attention to improve the odds of survival. If you experience any of these symptoms, call 9 -1-1. Minutes matter; fast action can save your life. To stay on top of your heart health, get regular physical exams. If you have cardiac risk factors, talk with your doctor about tests to check up on the condition of the heart itself. As a pregnant teenager, Apple's journey plummets her into a perilous struggle until finding salvation in a suburban shelter for homeless teens. With provisions of unprecedented comfort, a collective sisterhood connection and female empowerment, the shelter elevates Apple to break the shackles of her past and inspires her to embrace the future with clarity, maturity and hope not only for herself but her unborn child.
