Catechesis of the Good Shepherd Atrium for ages 1 ½ - 12 John XXIII Montessori Children’s Center is currently accepting new applications for a limited number of spaces in our Monday Toddler Atrium for ages 1 ½ -3 where a parent attends with their toddler, Monday and Friday morning sessions for ages 3 - 6, as well as our Friday morning or new Tuesday afternoon session for ages 612. This unique religious formation program, taught by catechists certified by the National CGS organization, has been adopted by the Missionaries of Charity, Franciscan Friars of Renewal, and Nashville Dominicans. It allows God to speak directly to the child, helping the child to fall in love with the person of Jesus. Duruflé Requiem For the feast of All Souls Day, the choirs of St. John’s will sing the Requiem, Op. 9 by the French impressionist composer, Maurice Duruflé. This setting of the Requiem Mass is deeply rooted in the original Gregorian Chant. All singers in the parish are invited to participate in this event. There will be two liturgical performances of the work: Sunday, November 2, 2014 at 10:30 am (ordinary form) and Monday, November 3, 2014 at 7:00 pm (extraordinary form).
