ORDER OF WORSHIP
The Fourth Sunday in Ordinary Time
February 1, 2015
10:00 am
SHARING OF THE PEACE
Greet one another with the sign of peace.
The peace of Christ be with you all.
And also with you.
GATHERING
All Children remain in worship following the Children’s Message.
We gather to praise God, in God’s sanctuary, to rededicate our lives to the service
of God through music, spoken word and discipleship.
WORD
Eternal God, your Son, Jesus Christ, now exalted as Lord of all, pours
out his gifts on the church. Grant us that unity which your Spirit
gives, keep us in the bond of peace, and bring all creation to worship
before your throne; through Jesus Christ our Redeemer, who lives
and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now
and forever. Amen.

LIFE AND WORK OF THE CHURCH
* CALL TO WORSHIP
My soul longs, indeed it faints for the courts of the Lord; my heart
and my flesh sing for joy to the living God.
Even the sparrow finds a home, and the swallow a nest for herself,
where she may lay her young at your altars, O Lord of hosts, my King
and my God.
Happy are those who live in your house, ever singing your praise.
* HYMN 20
All Things Bright and Beautiful
ROYAL OAK
PRAYER OF CONFESSION (unison)
Forgiving God, we repent of all the ways we turn from you. You
call, but we do not listen; you show us your path, but we prefer
our own way. Forgive us, heal us, and lead us back to you, that we
might show mercy to others. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

HEAVEN’S RAIN
The Apostles’ Creed
I believe in God the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth,
and in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord; who was conceived by
the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius
Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; he descended into hell; the
third day he rose again from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and
sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence
he shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy
Ghost; the holy catholic church; the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body; and the life everlasting. Amen.
THANKSGIVING
Hymnal #581
Glory Be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost;
as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be,
world without end. Amen, amen.
The Lord be with you.
And also with you.
Lift up your hearts.
We lift them to the Lord.
Let us give thanks to the Lord our God.
It is right to give our thanks and praise.
It is right . . . unending hymn:
As the deer longs after the flowing streams
so longeth my soul for Thee, O God.
(Psalm 84:1-4)
How lovely is your dwelling place, O Lord of hosts!

PRAYER AFTER COMMUNION AND LORD’S PRAYER
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom
come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day
our daily bread; and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For
thine is the kingdom, and the power and the glory, forever. Amen.
