Praise the Lord! Praise, O servants of the Lord, praise the name of the Lord.
Blessed be the name of the Lord from this time on and forevermore.
From the rising of the sun to its setting, the name of the Lord is to be praised.
The Lord is high above all nations, and his glory above the heavens.
Let us worship God!
*HYMN 147
For there is no distinction, since all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God; they

*PRAYER OF CONFESSION (Unison)
NEW TESTAMENT READING
Almighty God, we pray the blessing and honor, glory and power we give to you
will be more than words of a song. We confess that we seek honor and glory for
ourselves, and find it hard to relinquish power and control. We confess we
surround ourselves with the securities of the world, and reject as naïve the
simplicity of trusting you alone. Forgive us, O God, for the ways in which we
compromise our faith and hesitate to trust. Open us to your mercy and strength,
as shown by the obedience of our Lord Jesus Christ, in whose name we pray.
Amen.

deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory,

The Apostles’ Creed
I believe in God, the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth; and in Jesus
Christ his only son our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the
Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; he
descended into hell; the third day he rose again from the dead; he ascended into
heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence he
shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit; the holy
catholic church; the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the
resurrection of the body; and the life everlasting. Amen.
