CHORAL INTROIT
*CALL TO WORSHIP
Leader: Blessed be the name of God from this time on and forevermore.
People: From the rising of the sun to its setting the name of God is to be praised.
Leader: It is good to give thanks to God, to sing praises to your name, O most High;
People: to declare your steadfast love in the morning, and your faithfulness by night.
*HYMN
Morning Has Broken
Pilgrim (Red Hymnal) 38
Please pass blue prayer request cards to the center aisle.
Ushers will collect them during the last verse of the hymn.
*UNISON PRAYER
Holy God, we come before you with awe, for you are great in love and power. Some of
us come with reluctance and some with joy; some with sadness and others full of fear,
yet we know you receive us as we are. Mighty God, stay with us always, as we worship
and as we share the risk and challenge of living our faith. By your power Spirit, turn our
fear to courage and our confusion to confidence. Touch us, God, with your healing fire.
Speak to us through your Word. Send us back into the world renewed and eager to do
your will. We pray in the name of Jesus the Christ. Amen.
*CONGREGATIONAL RESPONSE
NCH (Black Hymnal) 164 v 1 & 4
Arise, Your light has come, the Spirit’s call obey.
Show forth the glory of our God that shines on you today.
Arise, your light has come, the mountains burst with song.
Rise up like eagles on the wing, God’s power will make us strong!

RESPONSE
We Would See Jesus, verse 5
Pilgrim (Red Hymnal) 152
We would see Jesus, in the early morning
still as of old he calleth, “Follow me;”
Let us arise, all meaner service scorning;
Lord, we are thine, we give ourselves to thee!
CALL TO OFFERING
OFFERTORY ANTHEM
Pilgrim (Red Hymnal) 404 v. 1 & 4
Take my life, and let it be consecrated, Lord, to thee:
Take my moments and my days, let them flow in ceaseless praise.
*PRESENTATION
Take my love: my Lord I pour at thy feet its treasure store;
Take myself, and I will be ever, only all for thee.
*PRAYER OF DEDICATION
We thank you, God, that you have blessed us with an abundance of gifts for the
flourishing of your world. May this offering of our life and labor reveal your love as we
seek to share your promised reign with all creation. Amen.
*COMMUNION HYMN
Let Us Talents and Tongues Employ
NCH (Black Hymnal) 347
COMMUNION PRAYER
Leader: God is with you.
People: And also with you.
Leader: Let us open our hearts.
People: We open them up to our God.
Leader: Let us give thanks to the God of Light.
People: It is right to give God thanks and praise.
Leader: Bright shining God, inner light of all faithful souls,
we celebrate your gifts of love, creation, and art.
We rejoice that you have made us in your image
and call us to live in your limitless love.
People: You bring us to the dawn of your rising.
Leader: You sent Christ, our morning star, to light a way in our night
and lead us to justice and peace.
People: Your Holy Spirit shines good news into our lives.
Leader: Each daybreak you call us to feed the hungry, bring recovery of sight, liberate the
oppressed, heal the brokenhearted and bind up their wounds, and keep watch for the
dawn of your commonwealth on earth.
People: For all of this we give you thanks! And we praise you,
joining our voices with all life on earth and the company of heaven,
who forever sing their hymns to proclaim the glory of your name.
Leader: On the night he was betrayed, Jesus took bread, and after giving thanks
broke it and gave it to his disciples, saying,
People: Take, eat; this is my body given for you.
Whenever you do this, do it in remembrance of me.
Leader: After supper, he took the cup, saying,
People: This cup is the new covenant.
Whenever you drink it, do it in remembrance of me.
Leader: By your Spirit bless this bread and this cup that they may become for us
the presence of Christ among us.
People: Shine your light and your love on the offering of our lives.
Enlighten us that we may be your people, the body of the risen Christ,
the light of the world, set apart to serve this earth that you have made.
Through Christ, with Christ, in Christ, in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
we praise you now and forever, O Light and Love Eternal.
THE LORD’S PRAYER
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil
For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen
THE SHARING OF THE BREAD AND CUP
We invite those who are able to come forward and receive the elements at the Chancel steps.
If you wish to be served in your seat, please raise your hand and a deacon will serve you.
PRAYER OF THANKSGIVING
We have been fed, Holy One, by your presence. We have been led, Eternal One, by your
light. May we bask in this glow now and forevermore. Amen
