MARCH 15, 2015
15 DE MARZO, 2015
4th Sunday of Lent:
That we may show our gratitude for Jesus’ ultimate sacrifice by generously making sacrifices in our own lives.
“For God so loved the world that he gave his only
Son…” John 3:16. Of all the wonderful gifts that God
has given to us, the gift of His own Son is truly the
greatest. How can we ever thank God for a gift like
that? God does not ask us to sacrifice our own precious
firstborn, but He does ask that we be generous in making some sacrifices for Him.
Please pray for the sick:
Julio Anguiano, Efren Moreno, John Garcia, Eileen
Antill, Natalie Treviño, Homer Arredondo, Arnold Bertrand, Ernest Recio, Joan Terrell,

OPERATION RICE BOWL REFLECTION: God’s
Mercy. In today’s scriptures, we hear
how the Israelites repeatedly break their
covenant with God, and yet God continues to respond with merciful and abiding
love. Our response to God’s grace must
be apparent in our works. This week through Operation
Rice Bowl, we learn about our brothers and sisters in
Zambia, who are unable to enter the marketplace and
earn a living. We pray for all who struggle to find
work, and we fast for those who cannot afford to feed
their families. We give so that CRS can help marginalized people obtain loans in order to save money, start
small businesses and work toward a brighter future

15 DE MARZO, 2015
Dear Brothers and Sisters,
Cardinal DiNardo has asked us to publish the following
about the upcoming Synod on the Family. This can be a
tremendous opportunity for us to reflect on the beauty
of family life and also the many challenges we face
every day.
"Participate in the 2015 Synod on the Family survey To
help the Church prepare for the Ordinary Synod on the
Family scheduled for this October, Pope Francis wishes
to receive feedback from Catholics on the outcome of
the Extraordinary Synod in 2014 (“The Pastoral Challenges of the Family in the Context of Evangelization”).
With that goal in mind, the Archdiocese of GalvestonHouston invites Catholics to prayerfully consider the
Relatio Synodi document derived from the 2014 Synod
and participate in an online survey (www.
archgh.org/survey). The responses will help inform
Pope Francis and the Bishops of the Synod about the
challenges faced by today’s families and enable them to
discuss and develop appropriate pastoral solutions. The
responses from the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston
will be shared with the U.S. Conference of Catholic
Bishops and then incorporated into a document that will
be forwarded on to the Vatican for use at the Synod.
The online survey (www.archgh.org/survey) is for
Catholics in the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston.
Survey participants are welcome to answer all or only
some of the questions that most interest them. The
deadline for participating in the survey is March 20,
2015."
God bless you and your family, may the intercession
and example of St. Joseph lead us forward in our life’s
journey,
Fr. Brendan

FOURTH SUNDAY OF LENT
CUARTO DOMINGO DE CUARESMA
Queridos Hermanos y Hermanas

venga a celebrar a nuestro patrón San
