Manny Dear St. Francis family, The Fourth Sunday of Easter is usually celebrated as “The Good Shepherd Sunday.” The Gospel this weekend (Jn 10:11-18), Jesus compares himself to a “good shepherd” who knows his sheep, calls them by name, protects them from ferocious wolves or thieves and ready to lay down his life to them. God really did this for us His people as a good and responsible shepherd “God so loved the world that He gave He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life”, (Jn 3:16). “For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.” (Lk 19:10) Let us thank God for His tremendous love for us and whose mercy endures forever. He doesn’t give up on us even though how unworthy and unfaithful we are to Him. May we all respond generously to the Lord, our Good Shepherd by the way we care and shepherd our family. May God give all parents the dedication and determination to look always for the welfare and future of their children. May our Good Shepherd guides and leads us always. Amen. Fr. Padre Manuel S. Very Busy Time for Religious Education Students at St. Francis of Assisi: See the two articles below. Please pray for these young people to be confirmed and their family members whose support has made it possible. St. Francis welcomes all! RE 2015-2016: All RE classes for next year are full at this time. If you wanted to enroll a son or daughter and you have not been able to, you may call the RE Office beginning October 1st to see if there is room in the grade you need. Sometimes registered students do not show up. If a registered student does not show up for three weeks, then that student is dropped and additional students may be added. Additional classes may be formed if new volunteers are available to teach beginning in September.
