RELAY FOR LIFE COLLECTIONS: It is the time of year to donate to the American Cancer Society. Our PTA group will once again be participating in the Relay for Life event at Hart Park in Firestone this summer (July 11-‐12). Here are a few opportunities for students to help out: -‐This year Student Council has asked K-‐6 students to bring in coin and dollar donations to their classroom teacher. The class who collects the most will win a Popsicle party from Student Council. 7th and 8th grade students are having a change war. The winner will earn a Popsicle party. -‐Students can also pay $2 to wear a hat on two different days – this Friday, May 1st and May 8th. This money will also be donated to ACS. The students will receive a different colored band when they give a donation of $1 for each day to wear their hat all day at school. Students can turn in money to their classroom teacher. -‐There will be Purple Ribbons for sale May 4th-‐6th. They will cost $1 and students will wear them in honor of a loved one that has or is battling cancer and we will write down their name to create a slide show to honor and celebrate their fight.
