“Dear young people, let me now
ask you a question; What will you
leave to the next generation? Are
you building your lives on firm
foundations, building something
that will endure? Are you living
your lives in a way that opens up space for the Spirit in the
midst of a world that wants to forget God, or even rejects
him in the name of a falsely-conceived freedom? How are
you using the gifts you have been given, the “power” which
the Holy Spirit is even now prepared to release within you?
What legacy will you leave to young people yet to come?
What difference will you make?”
As you “celebrate the sacrament of Confirmation, the Holy
Spirit will descend upon the you; you will be “sealed” with
the gift of the Spirit and sent forth to be Christ’s witnesses.
What does it mean to receive the “seal” of the Holy Spirit?
It means being indelibly marked, inalterably changed, a
new creation. For those who have received this gift,
nothing can ever be the same! Being “baptized” in the one
Spirit (cf. 1 Cor 12:13) means being set on fire with the love
of God. Being “given to drink” of the Spirit means being
refreshed by the beauty of the Lord’s plan for us and for the
world, and becoming in turn a source of spiritual
refreshment for others. Being “sealed with the Spirit”
means not being afraid to stand up for Christ, letting the
truth of the Gospel permeate the way we see, think and act,
as we work for the triumph of the civilization of love.”

2015-2016 Religious
Education News
We are now accepting pre-registration for
2015-2016 Religious Education season. Forms
will be available in the office and in the vestibule of the
Church.
All children will be required to complete two years of
Religious Education to be eligible for Sacramental
Preparation. So if you would like your child to receive their
Confirmation in 2017 they need to be attending Religious
Education next fall. Those who also anticipate
quinceañera, must also attend Religious Education.
Everyone is welcome to join us. Next week’s topic is
Who is Jesus?
This session will cover:
 What Jesus really taught about himself: who he
was and where he came from
 Why it doesn’t make sense to view Jesus as just a
good moral or religious teacher
 Why it is fitting that god would become man
 The all-important decision Jesus challenges us to
make about him.
Attendance to prior sessions is not a requirement.
Classes are Wednesdays at
10AM session or 6PM session

vidas de una manera que abre espacio para el Espíritu en
medio de un mundo que quiere olvidar a Dios, o incluso lo
rechaza en nombre de un falso concepto de libertad?
¿Cómo estás usando los dones que se le administraron, el
"poder" que el Espíritu Santo está ahora dispuesto a
derramar sobre ustedes? ¿Qué herencia dejaras a los
jóvenes por venir? ¿Qué diferencia va a hacer? "
A medida que "celebrar el sacramento de la Confirmación,
el Espíritu Santo descenderá sobre ustedes y serán;
"sellados" con el don del Espíritu y enviados para ser
testigos de Cristo. ¿Qué significa para recibir el "sello" del
Espíritu Santo? Significa estar marcadas indeleblemente,
inalterablemente cambiado a una nueva creación. Para
aquellos que han recibido este don, nada puede ser lo
mismo! Ser "bautizados" en el Espíritu (cf. 1 Cor 12:13)
significa estar establecido en el fuego con el amor de Dios.
Ser "dado a beber" del Espíritu significa ser refrescado por
la belleza del plan de Dios para nosotros y para el mundo,
y convirtiéndose a su vez en una fuente de renovación
espiritual para los demás. Ser "sellados con el Espíritu"
significa no tener miedo de defender a Cristo, dejando que
la verdad del Evangelio impregne nuestro modo de ver,
pensar y actuar, mientras trabajamos por el triunfo de la
civilización del amor.”

Ahora estamos aceptando pre-inscripción para
la temporada 2015-2016 de Educación
Religiosa. Los formas estarán disponibles en la oficina y en
el vestíbulo de la Iglesia.
Se requiere que todos los niños completen dos años de
educación religiosa para ser elegible para la Preparación
Sacramental. Entonces si usted desea que su hijo reciba su
confirmación en 2017 tienen que estar asistiendo a la
educación religiosa el próximo otoño. Los que anticipen
celebrar quinceañera deben estar en el grupo de jóvenes.

Earlier this week St. Vincent DePaul received another
contribution of non-perishable food from your parish
through your “reverse collection” program. We estimate
about 500 pounds was donated. The response of your
parishioners was truly impressive. On behalf of St. Vincent
DePaul I thank you and your parish profusely for your
generosity. At a time when we have experienced a falloff
of food stuffs from Klamath-Lake Food Bank, the efforts of
Sacred Heart are truly impressive.
