--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------TODAY there will, as usual, be coffee, tea etc. after both morning Masses and we hope that you will be able to stay. After
Mass tickets are on sale from Ruby and Ros for the Christmas Cake Raffle: all proceeds from the latter will go to the Tower
Fund at Holy Trinity. The Draw will take place during the refreshments after the Carol Service this afternoon. There will also be
a retiring collection towards the cost of flowers for Christmas.
OUR CRIB OFFERINGS will again this year go to ‘Freedom from Torture’which includes many children.
PARISH CHRISTMAS CARDS There is a table at the back of S. Silas for you to place your cards for your friends in the
congregation. Please use it and also check it to see who has left cards for you!
CHRISTMAS DAY is a Holyday of Obligation when we ought to be at Mass unless prevented by some serious cause. There
are many opportunities to fulfil that Obligation, including the Mass of the Vigil which is said before public transport ceases and
our lives become more complicated! I hope that we shall take full advantage of them!
THE DAILY MASSES will continue as usual during the Octave, though the Monday Mass will be at 12 noon rather than in the
evening. On New Year’s Day, the Feast of Our Lady the Mother of God, there is a SOLEMN MASS at S. Silas at 12 noon and
a Said Mass at 6.00pm.
PLEASE PRAY FOR all those on our sick lists especially Philip Freeman, Jimmy East, Terry Bexley, Colin Queen, Derek
Steel, Faith Davey, Janet Gillam, Diane Moore, Peter Lister, Doreen Moodie, Patrick O’Donnell and Marquis Coker; for Holy
Trinity and S. Silas School and all our staff and children; for the recently bereaved and for the departed especially Ethel
O’Connor, Kenneth Cox, Philip Geddes, Kathleen Rowlands, Clive Withey, Rosaline Tsang, Jim Garner, Raymond Pearson,
Ann Walker, Jack Castree, Hugh Massingberd, Glenda McShane, Ronald Lumley, Olwyn White, Michael Brown, Hilary
Naylor, Frank Webb, Thomas Brice, Thomas Morey, Ebie Hatfield and Annie Mundy.
