The Fourth Sunday of Advent - Gospel Reflection
The mystery kept secret for long ages, promised through His
prophets in the holy Scriptures, is today revealed.
This is the “Gospel of God” that Paul celebrates in today’s
Epistle - the good news that “God is with us” in Jesus Christ.
The sign promised to the House of David in today’s First
Reading is given in today’s Gospel. In the virgin found with
child, God himself has brought to Israel a savior from David’s
royal line.
Son of David according to the flesh, Jesus is the Son of God,
born of the Spirit. He will be anointed with the Spirit, and by
the power of Spirit will be raised from the dead and
established at God’s right hand in the heavens.
He is the “King of Glory” we sing of in today’s Psalm. The
earth in its fullness has been given to Him. And as God swore
long ago to David, His Kingdom will have no end.
In Jesus Christ we have a new creation. Like the creation of
the world, it is a work of the Spirit, a blessing from the Lord.
In Him, we are saved from our sins, are called now “the
beloved of God.”
All nations now are called to belong to Jesus Christ, to enter
into the House of David and Kingdom of God, the Church.
Together, through the obedience of faith, we have been made
a new race - a royal people that seeks for the face of the God
of Jacob.
He has made our hearts clean, made us worthy to enter His
holy place, to stand in His presence and serve Him.
In the Eucharist, the everlasting covenant is renewed, the
Advent promise of virgin with child - God with us - continues
until the end of the age.
There will be no Eucharistic Adoration on
Wednesday, December 24th in preparation
for Christmas.
CHRISTMAS FLOWERS
Are you interested in remembering a loved one, living or
deceased, by making a donation for flowers to decorate our
altar this Christmas? There are envelopes available at each
entrance to the church for those who do not already have
one. Please fill out with the names of those to be
remembered and place it in the collection basket.
Thank you.

this song to help them understand Advent.
Give it a try!
Advent song sung to..Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star
Gentle reminder for our
Faith Formation families…
Advent is a time to wait, not quite time to celebrate.
Light the candles one by one,
‘til the Advent time is done.
Christmas day will soon be here,
time for joy and time for cheer!
We thank you for your RSVP to the potlucks
and look forward to seeing your merry faces
on either Sunday, December 21st in the

Attention Lectors, Altar Servers,
and Eucharistic Ministers
We are currently working on the new ministry schedule for
January/February. If you have any times you will be
unavailable, please contact Carolyn Winter in the parish office
at [email protected] or 926-2206 as soon possible.
A good time was had by all!
Intercessions For Vocations
For all those being called to share in
the passion of Christ as priests and
in the consecrated life, that they will
echo His Eternal Word of mercy in
their own faithfulness to the Father’s
will, we pray to the Lord.
“Be it done unto me according to your word.” Docile
obedience to the Lord’s will is the fruit of humble prayer.
If God is inviting you to a deeper consecration as a
priest, brother or sister call Father Jason Jalbert 603663-0132, or write [email protected]
The next Life Night will be on
December 21st from 5:00pm to
6:45pm. Life Nights are open to all
high school students. All are
welcome, so invite your friends and
come for nights that will be filled
with food, faith, and fun. We look
forward to seeing all of you
throughout this year! For any

March for Life
The March for Life, which takes place
every January 22nd, is the largest pro-life
event in the world that commemorates the
somber anniversary of the infamous
decision in Roe v Wade, which made
abortion legal in the United States.
Christmas Tree Sale
Starting on Friday, the day after
Thanksgiving, the Knights of Columbus
will be selling Christmas Trees in the Church
parking lot. This is the K of C's largest
fundraiser; it gives us great visibility in the
community and will fund us in our good
works throughout the year.
This is a great opportunity for the youth of
our parish to join with tens of thousands of other teens and
hundreds of thousands of people to peacefully march on
the streets of Washington D.C. to stand up for every unborn
child's life.
If there are any teenagers interested in attending the March
for Life on January 22, 2015 please contact Chris Fortin at
[email protected] or 926-2206.
All trees are $40 each and we have several sizes to
choose from. We will be open weekdays from
3:00 to 7:00 pm and on weekends from 9:00 am to 7:00
pm.
Thank you for your support
Praying the Rosary as a community of faith
can have great benefits, not only for us as
individuals, but also for our community and
the world at large. St. Louis Marie de
Montfort said, "When people say the Rosary
together it is far more formidable to the devil
than one said privately, because in this public prayer it is an army
that is attacking. It is very easy to break a single stick, but if you
join it to others to make a bundle, it cannot be broken. In union,
there is strength."
Please join us every weekday morning at 8:25 to pray the Rosary
before the 9:00am Mass.
Scheduling Space For Meetings
With many groups trying to utilize the
rooms available in the church, we must
all be mindful to follow proper procedure
in reserving space. Please check with
Carolyn Winter in the Parish office at 926-2206 or
[email protected], regarding availability, and
reserving space prior to planning any event.
OH COME LET US ADORE HIM!
CHRIST,THE LORD!
Join us for an evening of Praise and Carols, Fellowship
and Joy in the Lord AT 7:00 PM on THURSDAY,
JANUARY 1, 2015 at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary
Church, Rochester - NO BETTER WAY TO BEGIN THE
NEW YEAR!! All faiths and all ages welcome! Bring the
whole family!
Please bring cookies or treats to
share. Hosted by the Mercy of Jesus Charismatic
Prayer Group. For more information or directions, call
