Every Sunday during Advent, we enjoy a beautiful Chrismon tree in our sanctuary. If you would like to know more about the history, the hand made ornaments and the symbolism of the tree, take a booklet for your family to enjoy. The Chrismon Tree at Madison Street United Methodist Church is available in the narthex and the Johnson Gallery. Christmas Eve Services 5:00pm– Family Service of Carols, Candlelight and Communion Nursery care will be provided for the 5pm service only 11:00pm– Christmas Eve Service of Candlelight and Holy Communion High School Student Dinner and Lock-in The Christmas Progressive Dinner, Lock-in & Gift Exchange will take place tonight, December 19th. We will meet at the church at 5:30pm then travel together to three different houses. We will return around 9:30pm for the lock-in and gift exchange. It will resume on January 21st with a study of the gospel of Mark. Room in the Inn Needs Innkeepers Two male innkeepers are needed for each night we host Room in the Inn. Here are the remaining dates: January 5 & 19, February 2 & 16, March 2 & 16. Please consider volunteering your time to serve as an Innkeeper for one of these nights. Please consider joining the Moore Magnet Mentors in January 2015! This is a once a week commitment to working with a student to build skills and confidence. Currently we have 9 mentors from our church, but we would like to have 20! This could be a life transforming service opportunity, for you and a student. Mission of the Month for December: Winter Wear for Urban Ministries Please place new and gently used winter wear items in the Mission of the Month bin located just inside the Commerce Street entrance. Winter wear includes coats, jackets, gloves, hats and scarves for children, youth and adults. Thank you to Flower Lily! Food items and monetary gifts to F.U.E.L. are always needed and greatly appreciated. Angel Tree Generosity 50 angels were adopted from our Department of Children's Services Angel Tree this year! Many families and individuals expressed great love and care by returning a generous amount of gifts for these children. On behalf of the Outreach Ministry Team, thank you for responding to this need and for providing support to our Clarksville area foster families. The FUEL supply is running low. Please continue to donate items to the FUEL trunk to keep the shelves well stocked. Contribution Benefits Deadlines If you would like to maximize your tax benefits for charitable contributions made for 2014, your gift to the church needs to be received on or before January 5.
