Just off the Press!
Every Sunday during Advent, we enjoy a beautiful Chrismon tree in our sanctuary.
If you would like to know more about the history, the hand made ornaments and
the symbolism of the tree, take a booklet for your family to enjoy. The Chrismon
Tree at Madison Street United Methodist Church is available in the narthex and the
Johnson Gallery.
Christmas Eve Services
5:00pm– Family Service of Carols, Candlelight and Communion

11:00pm– Christmas Eve Service of Candlelight and Holy Communion
High School Student Dinner and Lock-in
The Christmas Progressive Dinner, Lock-in & Gift Exchange will take place
tonight, December 19th. We will meet at the church at 5:30pm then travel
together to three different houses. We will return around 9:30pm for the lock-in
and gift exchange. Please sign up for the secret Santa gift exchange by emailing
Vicki Engel or on the sign-up sheet outside her office BEFORE Dec. 14th to
participate! Dismissal is Saturday morning at 7am. Come wearing your ugly
sweater and get ready for a fun night!

As a way to give our leaders time to rest, renew and enjoy the
holidays with their families, there will be no Dig Deep, Route 4:12
or Senior High Youth at 9:00am on Sunday morning, December
28th. Adults, please check with your class leader to see if you will be
meeting during the 9:00am hour.
We look forward to seeing you in worship at 10:15am! Nursery care
and Kids Core for 4 year olds and Kindergarteners will be offered.

Sunday Night Live
Sunday Night Live has concluded for the fall season. It will resume on January 25th. New
classes will be offered in the spring. Registration will be available January 4th.
Thrive!
Thrive has concluded for the fall season. It will resume on January 21st with a study of
the gospel of Mark.
Room in the Inn Needs Innkeepers
Two male innkeepers are needed for each night we host Room in the Inn. Here are the
remaining dates: January 5 & 19, February 2 & 16, March 2 & 16. Please consider
volunteering your time to serve as an Innkeeper for one of these nights. For more
information or to volunteer, please email one of our coordinators: Lionel Senseney,
Clark Nicholson, or Lisa Martin.
Moore Magnet Mentors
A new year! A new opportunity to serve! Please consider joining the Moore Magnet
Mentors in January 2015! This is a once a week commitment to working with a student
to build skills and confidence. Currently we have 9 mentors from our church, but we
would like to have 20! This could be a life transforming service opportunity, for you and
a student. Email Lisa Martin to join this team of mentors. Thank you to our current
Moore Magnet Mentors: Elizabeth Black, Lucile Senseney, Joy Hatcher, Vicki Wright,
Susanna Powers, Ruth Breyley, Ann Thompson, Lina Baggett and Lisa Martin. You are
making a difference!
Mission of the Month for December:
Winter Wear for Urban Ministries
Please place new and gently used winter wear items in the Mission of the Month bin
located just inside the Commerce Street entrance. Winter wear includes coats, jackets,
gloves, hats and scarves for children, youth and adults.

Madison Street UMC would like to offer sincere appreciation to the Flower Lily
Children’s Clothing Store for their creative and generous donation to the F.U.E.L.
ministry, with special thanks to owner, Betty Kay Hundley! Food items and monetary
gifts to F.U.E.L. are always needed and greatly appreciated.
Angel Tree Generosity
50 angels were adopted from our Department of Children's Services Angel Tree this
year! Many families and individuals expressed great love and care by returning a generous
amount of gifts for these children. On behalf of the Outreach Ministry Team, thank you
for responding to this need and for providing support to our Clarksville area foster
families.
The FUEL supply is running low. Please continue to donate items to the FUEL trunk to keep
the shelves well stocked. The request for December is ANY ITEM:

Contribution Benefits Deadlines
If you would like to maximize your tax benefits for charitable contributions made for 2014, your gift to
the church needs to be received on or before January 5. Checks received after December 31st must be
dated “December 31” in order to apply to your 2014 contributions.
Rose Window Note Cards
are now available for $10 for a package of 10 cards and envelopes. They may be purchased through the
church office or by contacting Sherri Harvill at (931) 358-3368.
