TAKE NOTE
1. New Church Photo Directories are complete and available to
be picked up in the Church Foyer today and Dec. 14. If you
have not paid for your directory, please be prepared to pay
$10 when you pick up your directory. Cheques should be made out
to “WEMMC” with directory in the memo line. Directories can also be
picked up during the week at the Church Office.
2. Pastor Tim is looking for help with the Youth Christmas Banquets. If
you are able to make a pot of pasta sauce or are able to help with
serving/cleanup on Dec. 15 or 18, please sign up at the back of the
foyer or contact Pastor Tim.
3. Membership Meeting minutes are available on the foyer table.
4. WANTED: Musicians and vocalists! We would like to invite you to
share your musical gifts during pre-service music on Sunday, Dec.
14 (Sunday School Christmas program). Deadline for prelude
music registration for the Sunday School Christmas program is
TODAY, Dec. 7. Please contact Mrs. Elaine Braun after the
morning worship service or call (204-325-4728 for more
information or to register.
5. ATTENTION, SUNDAY SCHOOL STUDENTS & STAFF: A Christmas
program rehearsal will take place on Saturday, Dec. 13, at 10:00 a.m.
Students aged 3,4, & 5 will be permitted to leave with their
parents following their part in the rehearsal (approx. 10:30
a.m.). Please make it a priority to attend as this will be our
only full rehearsal. See you there!
*NOTE TO PRELUDE MUSICIANS & DRAMA STUDENTS:
Rehearsal for prelude music and the drama presentation
will take place at 9:30 a.m. on Dec. 13 (jut before Christmas program
rehearsal). Prelude musicians are asked to meet at the front of the
sanctuary. Drama participants are to meet in the chapel.
6. CHRISTMAS BAKING FUNDRAISER: Are you looking to add to your
Christmas Baking collection without putting that work in in the
kitchen to make it happen? If this is you . . . then I have the
solution for you! The youth are selling custom baked goods to
raise money for their trip. HOW IT WORKS: Contact Pastor Tim.
He’ll put you in contact with a youth who will then bake what
you custom order from them, then you donate money to the trip in
exchange for the baked goods. If you have questions or are interested
in buying, contact Pastor Tim, cell 204-392-6874, church 204-3257667, email [email protected].
7. SOUP LABELS: Please do not bring soup labels to the church office.
We have no place to bring them anymore.
8. If you had your photo taken for the new directory and you
didn’t have a mailbox before, YOU HAVE ONE NOW! Please
make sure you check it out! If I have missed someone or you
would like to have a mailbox, please call Lydia at the Church Office.
9. WARRIORS WANTED. We are looking for people interested in being
part of the "E Prayer Alert Team". This is a team who prays for others
as the alerts arise. This is an Email driven initiative so if you are
interested please contact Pastor James with your email address. ~~
The purpose of this team is to pray for requests that come in to the
church office or to one of the pastors. If you have a prayer item,
either needs or praises, we would love to hear from you.

12. We NEED your prayers! The Sunday School is looking for
Prayer Partners! If you have a heart for children and youth in our
church, this is an opportunity for you. Prayer cards have been placed
on the Christian Education bulletin board for you to take as prayer
reminders. Please write your information on the sheet provided.

13. Toddler Room: With children and adult Sunday School classes beginning, we would like to offer regular Toddler Room care for children
under 3 years of age from 9:15-10:15 a.m. In order to have sufficient

Senior Fellowship Christmas Banquet, Thursday, Dec. 18, 6:00 p.m.
Cost is $5 per person. Please bring a salad. The committee will supply
the main dishes and dessert. Bring a friend and join us in celebrating
the birth of our Savior.
2. Discovery Class–a 13-week baptismal instruction class Sunday mornings, Jan. 11-Apr. 19, 2015. For anyone considering baptism or looking
for a focused study on the basics of Christianity. Topics of study
include: Who is God? How do we know the Bible is true?
What does it mean to be a Christian? What makes the
church important? Please sign up on the table in the foyer
so that study material can be ordered. For more info,

3. Apologetics Class. Learn to articulate your faith and hope more
clearly and respectfully to others. Learn to better understand why
you believe what you believe. Taught by Abe Bergen, this class begins
Jan. 11 in Room 211, 9:15 a.m.
4. INVITATION TO LADIES! Whether you are 18 or 100, this is for you!
Women's Ministry Monday Bible Study: Is family life a challenge? Is
work driving you crazy? Do you know God has a purpose for your life,
but you can't figure out what it is? Know that your circumstances are
not coincidental. And God's timing is impeccable. Join Beth Moore in
this 9 week study of 1 & 2 Thessalonians, Children of the Day. You'll
face crises, afflictions, relationships, doubts, concerns, and fears. Find
encouragement for living the Christian life now and hope for when
Christ returns. Sign up in the foyer until Dec. 14 to join us! Meet
Mondays at 9:30 a.m. and 7 p.m. and kickoff the study on Jan. 12,

5. ATTENTION LADIES: Are you interested in seeing Beth Moore in
person? She is coming to the Fargodome on Aug. 28 & 29, 2015 and
we are arranging bus transportation and hotel accommodations for
the group. There is a sign-up sheet available in the foyer with more
details regarding costs, time frame, tickets, etc. We would appreciate
knowing if you are interested as soon as possible to allow us to finalize

SOCIAL EVENTS
“Here we come a-carolling!” Help us spread some Christmas cheer as we
bring carols to the seniors of Winkler. This year we will
not be giving out any baking. Meet at church by 6:30
p.m. on Friday, Dec. 12. This will be indoor carolling at
some of the high-rises. See you then!
MISSIONS & COMMUNITY EVENTS
1. Winkler Sommerfeld Mennonite Church extends invites you to come
hear the Christmas story presented through the reading of Old Testament and New Testament Scripture and with music presented by the
Sommerfeld Mennonite Church mass choir, Sunday, Dec. 14, 7:00 p.m.
There will be an opportunity to give in support of the work of Eden
Health Care Services.
2. GriefShare is a Christ-centered, faith-based 13-week course designed
to help with the grieving process for those who have experienced the
death of a loved one. GriefShare is being presented in Winkler by
Grace Mennonite Church and meetings will be held at “The
Clubhouse” at 1351 Willow Ridge Place beginning Jan. 13, 7:30 p.m.,
and continuing every Tuesday evening until Apr. 7. To register,

3. MCC is appealing for donations to scale up its humanitarian assistance
in eastern Ukraine. MCC is assisting four partner organizations with
supporting displaced and vulnerable families in and around the cities
of Zaporizhzhia, Nikopol and Zhytomyr and the Kiev region. MCC’s
support includes cash assistance and material resources, such as
blankets, kits and canned meat. To donate please visit
