Alamo Township Parks Board Meeting Minutes Tuesday February 25th, 2014 Present: Dick Bennett, Tim Britain, Jim Endres, Dave Cramer, Rachel Piper Absent: Dan Knight, Stephen Podwell, Excused 1. Call to order Tim called the meeting to order 6:10 PM 1.1. 2. Citizens' Comments - None 3. Adoption of January 2014 minutes - Approved as written 4. Adoption of Agenda - Tim made a motion to add Annual Report under New Business, Dick 2nd, motion Carried 5. Ranger Reports 5.1. 3 truck patrols 5.2. Due to extreme weather I was not able to make normal patrols – 2 Hours 5.3. 400 hour inspection and service was complete by M&M Motor Sports a) Nothing unusual all was normal. b) Cost was $393 5.4. Thanks to Newt, Buck and Lee for trying to keep open the path inside the park. Snow plowing was almost impossible most of the winter. 6. Township Supervisors' report 6.1. Lou Described budget discussion at the Board level and progress on the aquisition of 5th St. from kalamazoo County. 7. Old Business 7.1. Committees a) Funding – Dick • Alamo Parks Endowment fund - $92,084.59 • Parks Budget - $8,100 Alamo Township meetings are open to all regard to race, color national origin gender or disability. Farmer's Market Report - Dan a) Alamo Farmer's market has joined the MSFA. b) Discussing a bulb exchange in April c) Farmer's Market - May 10th Trout Unlimited will be holding a Fly Fishing Seminar 7.3. Budget Update a) Tim reviewed the Parks Board budget request to the board. 7.4. Classics in the Park a) Date is June 28th and it starts at 7AM b) Need volunteers for Friday night set up c) Discussed using the boy scouts and decided that we will not 8. New Business 8.1. Kalamazoo Nature Center – Volunteer Proposal - Kim Lippke ([email protected]) a) Discussed volunteer opportunities using students from the new KNC educational program. 8.2. Dave Cramer resigned secretary. Board accepted resignation. 10.2. Board appointed Rachel Piper as new secretary. Board approved nomination. 11. Adjourn 11.1.
