A MESSAGE
FROM THE
PRINCIPAL
Dear all,
There has been so much
happening this term, our
Health and Social Care
students took their first exam, we have also established Football
Academy with Adam Barrett and had our first Department of
Education monitoring visit.
The vast majority of students have been working very hard,
completing their course work on time and focusing in lessons.
Our Level 2 Health and Social Care students took their exams for
the first time in January, and I am happy to report that over 90%
of students passed this exam. Well done to these students, they
have worked incredibly hard and deserve their success.
I am pleased to announce that NCB Studio School and Players
Football Academy (PFA) have teamed up to offer males and
females, aged 16-19, the opportunity to train like a professional
footballer whilst continuing their education. This wonderful
opportunity is giving students to train at a professional club and
compete in the Essex Colleges League.
I am now recruiting new students who will be entering the school
for the first time in September; I look forward to meeting these
students and their parents.
Best wishes
Jasmine
PRE OFSTED VISIT
On the 9th January, the School received its very first Department
for Education monitoring visit. The feedback from Val McGregor,
the Department for Education Adviser was very positive. She
praised the school and highlighted how impressive the students
were - I already know this!
The students behaved impeccably on the day and I was very
proud of how they conducted themselves demonstrating
confidence and professionalism.
The feedback from the Adviser highlighted that our School
is providing a stimulating and appropriately challenging
educational offer to our students. They also noted that our
students’ behaviour during transitions and lunch and break time
was exemplary and that all students conducted themselves with
composure and professionalism. As a school community we are
very proud!
FOOTBALL ACADEMY
We are now pleased to be able to offer males and females,

footballer whilst continuing their education.

WORK EXPERIENCE
Since the opening of the School in September, students who are
still completing work experience will have totalled a number of
182 work experience. This is fantastic and will benefit students
when applying for jobs.
Those who have not yet completed any work experience do
not worry; there will be plenty of time over the duration of your
course to complete the desired 100 hours. If you find potential
work placements yourself, please contact Claire McIntyre on
[email protected] so that the School
can complete the relevant paperwork in order for you to
complete your work experience there.

Our Post 16 Health and Social Care students were given the

London. Students take part in Bacterial Evolution workshops
learning about DNA samples to try and figure out a cure to a
fictional disease outbreak.
