Lake Farm Park Academy
opened for our very first
children on 8th September
2014. The building was
l o o k i n g b r i l l i a n t , th e
classrooms bright and
colourful, and the children
incredibly smart and grown
up. I felt very proud and
continue to do so at the way
the term has begun. Thank
you so much to our children
and families for making the
beginning of term such a
success, an d to our
committed staff for working
so hard during the week
prior to opening to get the
school ready.
The LFP Way is built around
four core values:
 Show respect
 Be a role model
 Tell the truth
 Aim high
Free School Meals for
Reception
What has been particularly
impressive is to see all of our
Reception children wearing
full school uniform. Thank
you to our parents for
ensuring our children all take
pride in their appearance;
let’s keep up the high
standard we’ve set for
ourselves. Alongside this is
the importance of good
attendance. Attendance
during our first week was
100%! Again, let’s keep up
the high expectations by
ensuring our children attend
school every day. Excellent
attendance is key to
successful learning.

News and Notices
The LFP Way
Over the next few months,
you will hear us often
referring to The LFP Way. So
what is the LFP Way? It
outlines the culture, vision
and values that we expect
every member of our
academy community to aspire
to and uphold at all times –
children, staff and families.
Everything we do will be in
the spirit of The LFP Way –
learning, attitudes and
behaviour. By following the
high expectations defined by
The LFP Way, everyone will
have the best possible
opportunity to achieve their
best and develop their talents
and skills.

Children who consistently
uphold the principles of The
LFP Way will be rewarded in
our regular celebration
assemblies. In our October
newsletter, I look forward to
naming our first Learning
Stars, Attendance Stars and
Behaviour Stars!
Most families are now aware
that if you have a child in
Reception you do not need
to pay if you wish them to
have school lunches; very
good news. I hope that most
families will make the most of
this as it is wonderful for the
children to have a daily hot
meal at school.
Breakfast
and
After
School Clubs
Both clubs open on 29th
September. Breakfast Club
runs from 8:00am - 8:45am.
After School Club runs from
3:15pm - 5:30pm. Currently,
both clubs are open to
Reception children only. If
you wish to book a place,
please speak to our office
team by telephone or in
person. Places are only
available if booked in
advance.

Attendance
As mentioned, we will be
monitoring attendance
carefully. Please note
holidays during term time
will not be granted under
any circumstances. I hope all
parents will support us with
this. We also want to
reward good attendance.
Children who have 100%
attendance during a half
term will be rewarded with
o u r A tten da nc e Sta r
certificates. Any Reception
classes who achieve 100%
attendance for a whole week
will be rewarded with a nonuniform day.
Help Please
Children occasionally have
accidents at school which
require a change of clothes.
If you have any old jumpers,
pairs of trousers, T-shirts or
underwear in good
condition, that you could
donate to the school so that
we have an emergency
supply, we would be most
grateful. Please leave
anything you could help us
with at the main office.
Thank you in advance.
Feedback
We hope you have been
pleased with your child’s
start to the term. Please let
us know what we are doing
well and any suggestions you
have about improvements or
changes. We will consider all
your views!

At the time of writing, we
are still awaiting the
completion of our phone

a number of times by failing
to turn up when they said
they would. Therefore for
the time being please
continue to use our

you know as soon as we
have our permanent

I look forward to continuing to work alongside all of our families to establish Lake Farm Park
Academy as the No.1 choice for our community.
