Paul Rigby Director of Personal Coaching Introduction I entered the teaching profession whilst working for Adidas coaching football around the UK. I decided to undertake a PGCE at Liverpool Hope University. On completion of my PGCE I gained a position of Physical Education teacher at Irlam and Cadishead College. I was promoted to Head of Year and then further promoted to Curriculum Leader for Physical Education. Previous Role As Curriculum Leader for PE I line managed a team of 9 teachers, moving a satisfactory department to an outstanding one as mentioned by Ofsted in their most recent inspection of ICC. With 100% pass rates at Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5. I forged links with the Manchester United Foundation to create the North West’s first 6th form football academy. With successful pupils leaving ICC to head to the USA to complete football scholarships at Universities. I also worked as a UEFA A licenced football coach at Manchester City’s Academy. Role at the Future Tech Studio As Director of Personal Coaching it will be my job to develop and implement a structure of internal coaching and learning support to ensure students achieve their potential. I will work in collaboration with curriculum staff to ensure academic achievement is complimented by personal development. In addition, I will be responsible for the identification and development of effective business partnerships to ensure all learners are provided with opportunities to develop the work and employability skills which are fundamental to the success of the individual and of Future Tech Studio School. Interests outside of school / work Sport plays an enormous part in my life. Having spent the best part of 20 years playing and coaching football to the highest level. I’m a keen “fair weather” cyclist and golfer! I also enjoy attempting any type of DIY in my house as long as it requires the use of a power tool!
