BROTHER OWEN J. SADLIER, OSF Brother Owen J. Sadlier was born in Brooklyn in 1944, the son of James and Catherine Sadlier. He attended St. Rose of Lima School, Parkville, graduating in 1958. He then attended St. Francis Prep, graduating in 1962. After his Freshman year of college, he entered the Novitiate of the Franciscan Brothers, Upper Brookville, in July of 1963. He professed First Vows in August 1965, and was assigned to the Scholasticate of the Franciscan Brothers, Brooklyn Heights. While there he attended St. Francis College, graduating with a BA in English in 1969. He later obtained an MA degree in English at the University of Notre Dame, and an MA in Philosophy from The Catholic University of America. From 1967 to 1970 he taught Social Studies at St. Bartholomew School, Elmhurst. He then taught English at St. Francis Prep from 1970 to 1976. In 1979 he was assigned to St. Anthony’s H.S., and taught English until 1984, when he was assigned to St. Joseph’s H.S., Trumbull, Ct. He returned to St. Anthony’s H.S. in 1987, and taught there until he was assigned to St. Francis College in 1996, where he has been an Instructor of philosophy for the past eighteen years.
