WHAT CAN WE DO TO PREVENT MEMBERS FROM GOING INACTIVE 1. Talk, talk, talk to the possible inactive, her husband, her closest P.E.O. friends.(especially the Treasurer, who will be the first to know of a problem) 2. Chapter may pay dues, for those who need assistance 3. If time is a problem, suggest lateral transfer (dimit) 4. Keep in CONTACT with in-actives and nonparticipants, continue talking to them about P.E.O (newsletters and E-Mails: telling synopsis of meeting, you were missed, events you missed, and desserts you missed) 5. Invite to ALL Socials( nonparticipants and in-actives) 6. Keep P.E.O. Record subscription coming to inactive (It only costs the chapter $5.00 per year) 7. Keep meetings short and on time 8. Keep meetings in the “Spirit of P.E.O.” (all members should feel involved and needed) 9. Just, simply ask, “Why don’t you come to P.E.O.?” 10. Get all sisters involved in P.E.O Programs (keep all programs short -20 minutes.) 11. Arrange Social Time – either before or after meeting 12. Be sure to provide a “Membership Moment” every meeting 13. If you have an older member or “non technical member” print out your newsletter or E-Mail and drop it by or send it to them 14. Nurture our transplants from other areas and help those who have transferred to another chapter get settled in their new chapter 15. Survey our active members: are we doing a good job(be truthful), what do you think needs to be changed, how can we be better 16. Council well, before you have to send back her pin (Three years) Remember Membership Begins with Me Once a P.E.O, Always a P.E.O
