A note from our Executive Director, Cynthia McCready:
The New Year is off with a great start for the clients here at the
Edith Bishel Center for the Blind and Visually Impaired. Our
board members approved a $1,500 social budget for a newly
elected Social Committee to plan and organize social activities in
2015 for you, our clients. Along with a donation from a client’s
family of $300 our Social Committee is planning the following:
Bingo socials, travel socials, luncheons, a Client Christmas Social
and more! Thank you to Sheila Turner, Irene Nash, Sherrie
Torrance, Bill Hoage and Shanna Larter for serving on our Social
Committee. Our monthly newsletters will expand on upcoming
social activities. Be the first to sign up, as on some events, seats are
limited.
Speaking of our newsletter! Have you moved? Do you have a new
phone number? Please call our office at 1-509-735-0699 and make
sure we have your correct contact information.
Welcome Tawny Carrier, Attorney at Law as our newest board
member. Her practice involves advocating on behalf of seniors,
disabled and their families through estate planning (Wills, Trusts,
Directives to Physicians, etc.), guardianships and other legal
matters, whether in court or not. She has been practicing in the
Tri-Cities in these areas of the law, as well as others, since 2007.
Optimism is the faith that leads to achievement.
