GH3 - Student Rank
GH3.A –Campus Created Rank Processing Lists
Because these students are marked inactive on their home campus when they graduate early or when they
transfer in district to 005, 007, 080, or 082 (12th grade only) they will not be included in the rank for their
home campus. Therefore, they must be marked active, the ranking completed, then marked inactive again.
This will be accomplished by the campus created lists.
The following two processing lists need to be created and maintained by the campus so all students are
ranked with their home campus. The first list is for early graduates and the 2nd is for those students who
transfer to 005, 007, 080, or 082.
You MUST CREATE A NEW list each year. DO NOT use last year’s list.
List #1: Graduate processing list
1) The home campus must create a processing List called "001 Early grads". (using your campus no.)
2) As students are graduated, the home campus must:
a) Run GPA Calc for the student.
b) Add the student to the processing list "001 early grads".
3) Create list: click on Advanced Features/Processing Lists.
4) Add list and name "001 early grads", "002 early grads", etc.
5) Click to Expand and click to Add/Delete Names.
6) Each time a student graduates during the school year, add them to this list. This list will then be used
for perform a mass process to change them from inactive to active so they will be included in the rank.
7) Once rank is run, they will be mass changed back to a status of inactive.
8) This will be done at the end of the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd 9 weeks. Then 12th rank is frozen.
List #2: Transfer to 005 Processing List
To include the 005 student in the rank on their home campus (12th grade only),
1) Advanced Features/Processing Lists
2) Add list and name "001 Transferred to 005", "002 Transferred to 005", etc
3) Click to Expand and Click to Add/Delete Names
4) Each time a student transfers to 005 during the school year, add them to this list. If they return to their
home campus, remove them from this list
5) This list will then be used for perform a mass process to change them from inactive to active so they
will be included in the rank.
6) Once rank is run, they will be mass changed back to a status of inactive.
7) This will be done at the end of the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd 9 weeks. Then 12th rank is frozen.

Using these lists, the Skyward team will run the utility to mass change the students from Inactive to Active
so they can be ranked. The ranking process will be completed, then the utility will again be run but this
time to change them from Active to Inactive.
GH3.B - Edit Student Rank

Student Profile/GPA/Rank
To edit the posted rank for a student prior to printing a transcript,
1) Locate the student and click on the Rank tab.
2) Locate the current school year, the correct entity number, and the Cumulative GPA Type for the GPA
Mthd of “1” (this is the wtd numerical) and the one on which the rank is calculated.
School Year = select correct year
Grd = Always use **
Ent = graduating high school
GPA Mthd = 1
GPA Type = Cummulative
3) With the correct selections made, click the Edit button on the right.
4) Edit the entries as needed and then Save

GH3.C - Exclude student from Class Rank Count
To exclude a student from counting in their class rank when the process is run (ex: Foreign exchange
students),
Students/Student Profile/ Entity Info
1) Locate the student and click on the Entity Info tab.
2) Edit the student record and change the field Include in Rank = NO. This will prevent the student from
ranking with their class.
