Consultation for the Synod on the Family 2015
A consultation is underway to prepare for the 2015
Ordinary Synod on The Vocation and Mission of the
Family in the Church and the Contemporary World.
Individuals and groups (e.g. parish pastoral councils,
CWL councils, etc.) are invited to participate. You
will find an online survey and related instructions
on the website of the Archdiocese of Kingston:
www.romancatholic.kingston.on.ca.
The online
survey will end on March 6, 2015. For those who
are unable to access the survey electronically,
parishes have been asked to make available, on
request, hard copies of the questionnaire and the
Preparatory Document (Lineamenta). Copies are
also available from the Pastoral Centre, (613) 5484461. Responses by regular mail are to be sent to
the Archdiocese of Kingston, 390 Palace Road,
Kingston, Ontario K7L 4T3, and must be received by
March 6, 2015. The responses will be collated and
a report prepared for the Canadian Conference of
Catholic Bishops, which, in turn, will report by midApril to the Synod Secretariat on behalf of the
dioceses of Canada.
Lenten Day of Reflection: "Embracing the Cross of
Christ" with Deacon Bill Gervais. Tuesday, March

10 , 9 AM – 3 PM (Includes lunch). This day of
reflection will use the fourteen Stations of the Cross
as a template to explore how each of these
episodes of the suffering of Jesus might apply to the
sufferings in our present world and our life
situation. For each station there will be time for
prayerful reflection, meditation and discussion on
related issues, especially the second beatitude
which promises, “Blessed are those who mourn for
they will be comforted.”

Mourning the loss of a loved one can be a time of intense pain. One
of the greatest gifts we receive from our faith in God is hope. May
your hope in Christ sustain you in your grief. However, if you get
