**Salary placement is in accordance to the Broward Teachers Union-Technical Support Professionals (BTU-TSP) Collective Bargaining Agreement.
Areas of responsibility and preferred qualifications will include:
*Assist with the operational procedures necessary to effectively execute the Supplier Diversity & Outreach Program.
*Work toward effectively meeting the goals and objectives of the Supplier Diversity & Outreach Program.
*Assist with certifying those eligible Minority/Women Business Enterprise vendors, consultants and contractors.
*Assist with preparation of reports and maintenance of records.
*Participate in pre-bid conferences to provide detailed information, instructions, clarification, and assistance in interpreting and
complying with bid specifications and M/WBE participation requirements.

Job Progression Career Path
The Minority/Women Business Enterprise Specialist I, II
and III jobs are designated as one job for the purpose of job
progression when an employee has achieved an evaluation
indicating that his/her job performance has met or exceeded
the expectations of the job, at the discretion of the
Coordinator, Supplier Diversity & Outreach Program and
approval of the Director, Procurement & Warehousing
Services.
NOTE: New employees will be placed depending on
experience. Employee must be on each level of the job
progression for a minimum of one (1) year in order to
advance to the next level. Previous work experience may
not be substituted.

SUPERVISES:
No supervisory responsibility
POSITION GOAL:
To assist the Director, Procurement & Warehousing
Services in developing, implementing, coordinating,
enforcing and monitoring affirmative action procedures to
ensure maximum participation of Supplier Diversity &
Outreach Program in all aspects of contracting and
purchasing opportunities with the School Board.
ESSENTIAL PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Minority/Women Business Enterprise (M/WBE) Specialist I, II, III shall:
1.
assist with the operational procedures necessary to effectively execute the
Supplier Diversity & Outreach Program.
2.
work toward effectively meeting the goals and objectives of the Supplier
Diversity & Outreach Program.
3.
assist with the design of the program to increase the percentage of participation of
minority/women business.
4.
assist with certifying those eligible Minority/Women Business Enterprise
vendors, consultants and contractors.
5.
assist with the maintenance of the original Minority/Women Business Enterprise
certification file.
6.
assist with preparation of reports and maintenance of records.
7.
assist Minority Business Enterprise applicants as appropriate.
8.
monitor and enforce compliance to achieve established goals.
9.
conduct on-going reviews and analyses of projected procurement needs and
requirements in order to identify and target qualified M/WBE’s as prospective
bidders.

on routine basis, provide M/WBE’s and M/WBE organizations with advance
notice of forthcoming bids in order to provide ample time to develop and
complete bid packages and proposals and obtain any needed assistance.
participate in pre-bid conferences to provide detailed information, instructions,
clarification, and assistance in interpreting and complying with bid specifications
and M/WBE participation requirements.
perform other duties related to the division's responsibilities, as the above duties
describe only the typical, primary features of the job.
participate, in the training programs offered to enhance the individual's skills and
proficiency related to the job responsibilities.
review current developments, literature and technical source of information
related to job responsibilities.

assist in ensuring that the District remains in compliance with external
requirements and internal policies by following federal and state laws, as well as
School Board policies.
SIGNIFICANT CONTACTS – frequency, contact, purpose, and desired end result:
Frequently works with District administrators, planners, principals and department
heads to gain information to develop bid specifications and obtain customer
feedback for performance improvement; frequently works with outside vendors to
negotiate contract terms.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Light work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10
pounds of force as frequently as needed to move objects.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Salary and benefits shall be paid consistent with the District's approved
compensation plan. Length of the work year and hours of employment shall be
those established by the School Board.
FLSA OVERTIME CATEGORY:
Job is exempt from the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act.
