Winthrop Parents Network is a grant from the Department of Early Education and Care The primary purpose of this program is to promote early literacy, parenting education, developmental screenings and resource and referrals for families with children birth to age 8. This goal is achieved through collaboration with the public schools, private preschools, Early Intervention and other agencies that provide services to families. Parenting Education Ongoing parenting discussion series (for example - keeping your child safe from predators, ADHD and kids) Family nights on various topics (for example - Family yoga night, teaching your child the value of a dollar) The Winthrop Parents Network has the Ages and Stages Questionnaire to screen children ages birth to 5. This checklist will help you identify your child’s strengths and weaknesses. Staff can give you activities to help your child work on different developmental areas.
