tutti i suoi doni. Tra essi c’è anche la risposta di
quanti si lasciano raggiungere da tale amore. In
questa comunione dei santi e in questa
partecipazione alle cose sante nessuno possiede
solo per sé, ma quanto ha è per tutti. E poiché
siamo legati in Dio, possiamo fare qualcosa anche
per i lontani, per coloro che con le nostre sole
forze non potremmo mai raggiungere, perché con
loro e per loro preghiamo Dio affinché ci apriamo
tutti alla sua opera di salvezza.

l'attività di finanziamento con
la vendita del formaggio di
Saint Benoit du Lac, al
profitto del Saint Angèle. Il
costo della confezione resta a 30$ e contiene; 200g
di Mont Saint-Benoît, 200g di Fontina, 150g di
Frère Jacques, 150g di Le Moine, 150g di SaintAugustin et 150g d'Ermite. Potete venire al
Il popolo di Dio ha perciò bisogno di
rinnovamento, per non diventare indifferente e per
non chiudersi in se stesso. Vorrei proporvi tre passi
da meditare per questo rinnovamento.
1. "Se un membro soffre, tutte le membra
soffrono" (1 Cor 12,26) – La Chiesa
l’ufficio. Abbiamo bisogno del vostro aiuto per
raggiungere l'obiettivo di 350 scatole.
La carità di Dio che rompe quella mortale chiusura
in se stessi che è l’indifferenza, ci viene offerta
dalla Chiesa con il suo insegnamento e,
soprattutto, con la sua testimonianza. Si può però
testimoniare solo qualcosa che prima abbiamo
sperimentato. Il cristiano è colui che permette a
Dio di rivestirlo della sua bontà e misericordia, di
rivestirlo di Cristo, per diventare come Lui, servo
di Dio e degli uomini. Ce lo ricorda bene la liturgia
del Giovedì Santo con il rito della lavanda dei
piedi. Pietro non voleva che Gesù gli lavasse i
piedi, ma poi ha capito che Gesù non vuole essere
solo un esempio per come dobbiamo lavarci i piedi
gli uni gli altri. Questo servizio può farlo solo chi
prima si è lasciato lavare i piedi da Cristo. Solo
questi ha "parte" con lui
(Gv 13,8) e così può servire l’uomo.

comunità cristiana con il Battesimo il
1 marzo 2015
La Quaresima è un tempo propizio per lasciarci
servire da Cristo e così diventare come Lui. Ciò
avviene quando ascoltiamo la Parola di Dio e
quando riceviamo i sacramenti, in particolare
l’Eucaristia. In essa diventiamo ciò che riceviamo:
il corpo di Cristo. In questo corpo
quell’indifferenza che sembra prendere così spesso
il potere sui nostri cuori, non trova posto. Poiché
chi è di Cristo appartiene ad un solo corpo e in Lui
non si è indifferenti l’uno all’altro. "Quindi se un
membro soffre, tutte le membra soffrono insieme;
e se un membro è onorato, tutte le membra
gioiscono con lui" (1 Cor 12,26).

Lent is a favourable time for letting Christ
serve us so that we in turn may become
more like him. This happens whenever we
hear the word of God and receive the
sacraments, especially the Eucharist. There
we become what we receive: the Body of
Christ. In this body there is no room for the
indifference which so often seems to possess
our hearts. For whoever is of Christ, belongs
to one body, and in him we cannot be
indifferent to one another. "If one part
suffers, all the parts suffer with it; if one part
is honoured, all the parts share its joy"
(1 Cor 12:26).

The Church is the communion sanctorum
not only because of her saints, but also
because she is a communion in holy things:
the love of God revealed to us in Christ and
all his gifts. Among these gifts there is also
the response of those who let themselves be
touched by this love. In this communion of
saints, in this sharing in holy things, no one
possesses anything alone, but shares
everything with others. And since we are
united in God, we can do something for
those who are far distant; those whom we
could never reach on our own, because with
them and for them, we ask God that all of us
may be open to his plan of salvation.
God is not indifferent to our world(...)But
the world tends to withdraw into itself and
shut that door through which God comes
into the world and the world comes to him.
Hence the hand, which is the Church, must
never be surprised if it is rejected, crushed
and wounded.
God’s people, then, need this interior
renewal, lest we become indifferent and
withdraw into ourselves. To further this
renewal, I would like to propose for our
reflection three biblical texts.
FRANCISCUS PP
1. "If one member suffers, all suffer
together" (1 Cor 12:26) – The Church
The love of God breaks through that fatal
indifference. The Church offers us this love
of God by her teaching and especially by her
witness. But we can only bear witness to
what we ourselves have experienced.
Christians are those who let God clothe
them with goodness and mercy, with Christ,
so as to become, like Christ, servants of God
and others. This is clearly seen in the liturgy
of Holy Thursday, with its rite of the
washing of feet. Peter did not want Jesus to
wash his feet, but he came to realize that
Jesus does not wish to be just an example of
how we should wash one another’s feet.
Only those who have first allowed Jesus to
wash their own feet can then offer this
service to others. Only they have "a part"
with him (Jn 13:8) and thus can serve others.

An Invitation to Prayer: With Louise
Eberwein and Paul Empsall
February28th- March 6th SPRING break for all
children in Catechism! Catechism resumes on
Saturday, March 7th!
This 5-session course is offered to any person who
has experienced the desire to make prayer a more
committed part of their life. The main focus will
be on praying with scripture. Various topics
related to this theme will be explored but
considerable emphasis will also be placed on
actual practice and sharing of experiences within a
group setting. Join us on Wednesdays, from
March 4 to April 1, 1:30pmto 3pm at the Ignatian
Spirituality Centre (4567 West Broadway,
Montreal). Registration limited to 8 spaces. Cost is

transfigured Lord and the model toward
whom we must tend, and our own
transfiguration as the goal we must attain.
We attain this goal by a profound realization
of our sinfulness and need of a Redeemer; by
preserving purity of body and soul; by
combating our passions and carnal instincts
and observing the commandments and most
importantly by participating in the Mass.
