He was born in the year 1955 & graduated Masters in Agriculture from Tamilnadu Agricultural
University, Coimbatore in the year 1978. He is basically a coffee planter & turned to be an
Industrialist by establishing his Business enterprises at Madurai. He is the Chairman &
Managing Director of companies viz. Devi Cropscience Pvt Ltd, Devi Biotech Pvt Ltd, Devi
Irrigation Systems Pvt Ltd, Devi Plastopack Pvt Ltd & Devi Plantations Pvt Ltd, involved in the
manufacturing & marketing of various agricultural inputs like Chemical pesticides, Biological
pesticides, Specialty fertilizers, Micro Irrigation products, Plastic containers, Coffee plantation
etc. They are also in the export to no. of countries in Asia, Africa, Latin America & Australia. He
is a frequent international traveler & visited almost all the important countries. He was the
President of Tamilnadu Pesticides Manufacturers Association, Vice President of Federation of
Pesticides Manufacturers Associations of South India & General Secretary of Tamilnadu AgroInput Traders Association. He is the active member of the Confederation of Indian Industry
(CII), Madurai District Small Scale Industries Association, Tamilnadu Chamber of Commerce &
Industry, Lodge Pandyan, Chennai Tamilnadu Golf Federation, Madras Race Club, Kodaikanal
Club, Planters Club, Union Club etc.
His significant achievements and awards in his profession are,
1. Best Industry Award twice by the Government of Tamilnadu.
2. Secured the International Patent for their product.
3. Having business presence in 24 states in our country through own branches and
networking more than 5000 direct dealers and serving more than 3 million farmers.
4. Exporting to more than 20 countries and work is in progress in many other countries.
5. A first generation entrepreneur
He joined Rotary in the year 1995 as a Charter Member of Rotary Club of Madurai Metro &
became the President for the year 1998-99. He has held different positions in Rotary & recently,
he was the District Chairman for the Annual Programs Fund (APF) for Rotary Foundation and
Chairman for the District Assembly for the year 2010-11, District Chairman for Foundation Fund
Raising Committee and Chairman for the District Foundation Seminar for the year 2011-12 and
Chairman for the District Team Training Seminar (DTTS) for the year 2012-13.
His Rotary achievements are,
1. As President, conceived and implemented an ongoing Permanent Project for the Club –
Old Age Home for the destitute old women of this area. This project is progressing well
as on date too.
2. As Chair, Annual Programs Fund (2010-2011), raised more than USD 600,000 for the
TRF. Was instrumental in the successful implementation of the "Child for Child' - a fund
raiser program of our District.
He is a Major Donor and married with Rotary Ann Vasanthi & blessed with 3 children Priti,
Deepthi & Utham. His wife Vasnathi is B.A and helping in the Business. Priti has completed
MCA and MBA (Aus) and got married & settled in Singapore. Deepthi has completed B.E and
MBA (Aus) and got married & settled in UK and Utham is doing B.E (Agriculture & Irrigation)
in Anna University, Chennai.
