(3 hours, Category lll) Changes in funeral service are challenging funeral directors to think out of the box.
The public is questioning the value of the funeral and especially the traditional funeral including viewing.
How can a funeral home provide personal service and still be able to find some meaningful alternatives to
make up for some of the lost profits. Ideas and discussions to study this market will be gone over.

Technical/Sciences
(4.5 Hours, Category IV) Our families are demanding more and wanting to pay less. Part of this is due to
the economy but some is because we can be our own worst enemy. People expect loved ones to be recognizable but this isn’t the easiest task today given the condition of remains after they’ve gone through extensive medical care. Procedures and techniques will be reviewed for handling several categories of common
difficult cases.
New OSHA requirements will also be discussed to help us all to maintain a safe and successful working
environment. Questions and comments are encouraged throughout the program.
Questions, comments and discussion will be encouraged throughout the day!
