Synagogue Reminders Youth Department Please respect the property of the neighbors of Young Israel of Hollywood. Be mindful of your children. Use waste receptacles at the shul. To maintain proper decorum, the entry doors to the Main Sanctuary will be locked while the Torah is being read, while the Rabbi(s) are speaking, during Mussaf Kedusha, and during the announcements prior to the conclusion of the service. Please plan your exit/entry accordingly. Do not bring food or drink into the Sanctuary, Library or Modular. YI of Hollywood strives to provide our congregants an organized and clean environment appropriate for a holy sanctuary. Please return all Siddurim, Chumashim, Talleisim and Sefarim to their original location at the conclusion of each minyan or class. Please contact Gerald Mayerhoff [email protected] for an aliyah or kibbud at any of the minyanim to mark a yahrzeit or special occasion. Shabbat Project: Share the beauty of our Modern Orthodox lifestyle with those less knowledgeable or affiliated. Please commit to hosting a Jewish relative, neighbor or co-worker (whom you would normally not think of inviting) for a Shabbat meal or other Jewish experience. Please sign up at: http://yih.shulcloud.com/shabbat-project-2014.html Shabbat Schedule: Youth Announcements continued from back panel Glad you asked! Bashevkin Latke Night is a YIH tradition for kids of all ages, introduced in 2001 by Youth Director Extraordinaire Amram Bendahan. The original Latke event was an evening of Chanukah-themed Bingo, with all sorts of incredible prizes. Today, the prizes are still awesome (and plentiful), but the event has evolved into a mash-up of Bingo and Let's Make A Deal, with a twist of Panoply and other surprises. This year, we’ve also updated the look of the game and added a lightning-fast Bingo-style game called “POW!” This year’s prizes include toys for kids of all ages, and electronics for everyone: Android tablets, Beats Studio headphones, a Sony PS4, a Bluetooth Karaoke Party Machine and more. There are also Amazon and Target gift cards, and other great prizes. Everyone can play, regardless of age. Children don’t even need to be old enough to read to recognize the pictures on the Latke board. The cost of this event is $18 per player; $5 per adult non-player. We look forward to seeing you at the gotta-be-there Chanukah event everyone looks forward to!
