Together with its sister company, MSB GmbH & Co. KG, IBS forms part of a Group that has
been 100 % family-owned and run for 4 generations. IBS offers a range of products and
services that are tailored to suit the customer’s needs yet still offer best value for money.
IBS delivers mining and tunnelling equipment (roadheading machines and ancillary equipment) as well as primary and secondary belt cleaning systems throughout the world.
Our highly specialized fabrication and machining facilities also enable us to offer contract
services to other engineering companies in Germany. Our reputation for “Quality Made in
Germany” has made us the first choice for a wide range of end users.
Utilizing the synergies of the two companies, IBS achieves an in-house content of over
70 % in its roadheading machines. A strong engineering design and development team,
state-of-the-art fabrication and machining facilities and a modern, fully-equipped assembly
shop all ensure our products meet the highest quality standards.
Another dedicated team of specialists provides ongoing technical support and after sales
service to ensure our machines and equipment continue to meet the operational need of
our customers long after they have left our factory. This high level of service is complemented by a large stock of spare parts and components at our facilities in Germany and
at other strategic locations throughout the world to ensure good availability.
Together IBS and MSB employ approx. 200 people and the combined facilities cover an
area of approx. 30.000 m². Both companies operate a quality assurance system that is
certified to ISO 9001:2008.

Belt Cleaning Technology “CleanScrape”
Our new patented belt cleaning system “CleanScrape” represents a new standard
for the industry. The system incorporates both a Primary Diagonal Cleaner (PDC)
as well as a Secondary Diagonal Cleaner (SDC) which offer the highest level
of cleaning performance with the lowest rates of wear thanks to the extremely
low c
ontact pressure between the cleaner and the belt. Your benefits:
• Extended life
• Reduced cleaning costs
• Reduced maintenance costs
The primary cleaner is installed diagonally across the discharge pulley and forms a three dimensional
curve. The cleaner incorporates tungsten carbide scrapers and is tensioned against the belt by way of
integrated steel cables and a gas strut. Despite an extremely low contact pressure between belt and
cleaner, 85 % to 95 % of stuck material is removed. The secondary cleaner is usually installed between
the discharge pulley and the first idler or alternatively at another point between idlers in the return run.

Features
• Optimum cleaning results
• Simple installation
• Removed material returns to main flow (PDC)
• Low wear to the belt
• Low wear to the cleaner
• Suitable for all belt speeds
• Suitable for use with all types of
mechanical joints
solutions from a single source
• Cleaner to belt width ratio
1.2:1 (PDC) and 3:1 (SDC)
• Long life expectancy
• Low maintenance
• Best value for money
• Low life-cycle costs
• Suitable for use in explosive atmospheres
• Suitable for use with reversing
