UPCOMING EVENTS
MPPC 2 Day Event
Our major event for the year is being held on the weekend of the 29th & 30th of November.
Notice for the event will be issued soon so riders start preparing your horses.
A roster will be prepared for the event & all members will be required to volunteer. If for some
reason you are not able to attend members will be required to arrange friends or family members
to attend in your stead. It is important to remember events such as this provide much needed
funds for our club, so we require the co-operation of all club members to ensure the event is a
success.
The club is also calling on members to assist in our fundraising at the event. Members or friends of
members who are able to supply goods or services please contact our Fundraising Co-ordinator
Margot Syme.
Werribee Pony Club Horse Trials 2014
Stables & camping sites for the Werribee PC Event, 27th & 28th September have now been
allocated. It is going to be another wonderful weekend for not only the riders but also a great social
gathering for all the family.
KEYS & GROUNDS HIRE
Membership keys for the new year will be $50, as per last year, however members returning their
previous key will be charged only $40.
Members are allowed to bring a friend when riding at the grounds for a fee of $20 per mount.
Members are responsible to collect the fees & forward to the Treasures Andrew Quayle at the next
available opportunity.
Friends must be paid up members of PCAV, EA or HRCAV & have appropriate insurances.
All riders at the MPPC property must advise our Grounds Manager, John
Duignan on 0418 563 534, prior to riding at the grounds. Riding may be
restricted to part or all of the grounds for safety reasons or to preserve the
surface for upcoming events or rallies.
ZONE DUTY
The roster is being finalized & will be issued soon.
SMZ have dropped 2 events from the calendar, which required club member volunteers. So as to
accommodate all members for the reduced number of events, the committee will add the
December 2014 & February 2015 Bunnings Sausage Sizzle to the roster.
Members are expected to attend their rostered events or arrange a swap to enable refund of $25
Zone Levy– do not leave it to the committee to have to chase up members to complete their
allotted duties.
C CERTIFICATE
As all riders have deferred sitting the C Certificate exams, we will keep you updated as to when
the next exams will be held & hosting club. We expect the exam will be held in February 2015.
AROUND THE CLUB
Our Grounds Manager, John Duignan, is currently liaising with council and relevant contractors to
arrange an all-weather covered area outside the clubrooms. We will keep you updated with our
progress.
Frankston City Council have awarded MPPC $500 as part of their community grants program for
additional keyhole show jump wings & break away cups to ensure we are compliant with the new
PCAV rules for showjumping course design. Thanks to FCC for assisting us in our application.

OUT & ABOUT
MPPC Presentation Night
A fabulous night was had by 60 members, family & friends of MPPC at the Football Clubrooms, on
Friday 6th September. The riders were duly recognized & well rewarded for their efforts during the
past year, with some having to make several trips to the car with their booty.
Gaye Whitely did a great job with the food & co-hosts DJ Matt & Mr Microphone Adam kept things
rolling along.
Many prizes & fundraising items were kindly donated & fun events for all ages contributed to a very
successful night.
Thanks to all who attended & contributing to the night & for the much needed monies raised.
Special thanks to Jacqui & Kim for putting it all together, with wonderful support from Matt, Adam,
Margot & Karen.
Mini Mornington
60 riders from all around the state converged to our grounds on Sunday 24th of August for the Mini
Mornington Teams Event. The weather held out for the entire day & a result of excellent
organization & co-operation on the day the event ran to schedule without a hitch. Congratulations to
the Pakenham Dalmore Composite Team for taking out a hard fought first place.
Well done to our team of Madison Casey,
Genevieve Beacom, Caitlin Bostock Young &
Ruby Caldwell, with Chrysanne Beacom as
Team Manager, plus Jemima Quayle as an
individual entry for getting through what was a
very competitive event.
Mini Mornington is an excellent opportunity to
test rider’s skills in all disciplines on their home
course before venturing out to other club events.
Special thanks to the volunteers & supporters
who put in many hours, not only on the day, but
the many weeks prior to organize the event &
prepare the grounds.

UNIFORM
Your committee remind all members that it is important for riders to be in the correct gear at rallies.
This also applies to un-mounted attendees.
New members are allowed a reasonable time to arrange the gear & we recognise that at times we
may not have all sizes in stock, so please be patient.
Winter uniform is white shirt, tie & jumper, same jodhpurs and jodhpur boots.
Jumping vests are compulsory at MPPC for jumping lessons.
When out competing, we ask that when competing as a Team, you all wear the same uniform for
each phase.
For dressage, it is traditional to wear the shirt, tie and jumper, however the polo tops can look
incredibly smart when tucked in and worn with a belt.
For cross-country and show jumping, you may wear either the summer or winter uniform.
We have been advised that Rat catchers are now acceptable to wear, but that XC silks may only
be worn if they are predominantly in the club colours.
CHANGES TO RALLY FORMAT & PROCEDURES
From the August rally onwards members must advise the DC, Karen Hayes, of your intention to
ride by no later than the Sunday prior to the rally.
This will enable Karen to organize instructors and appropriate size groups for both safety &
appropriate supervision & tuition.
Reminder notices may be sent out from the Secretary or DC.
However do not send replies to the MPPC email address.
All replies must be sent to [email protected].
Notification sent to any other email address may not be forwarded on.
Notification not received by Karen by the cut off date may mean there is not a place in the riders
usual group, and will therefore be allocated to a lower group subject to a place being available.
Upon arriving at the rally members wishing to submit a grading request must make a note on the
sign in form in the comments column.
Further, riders wishing to depart early and not participate in the afternoon session must also advise
the club by a note in the comments column.
Please note change to the format of the Rally Roster.
