Nan has twenty‐five years of senior executive experience in the pharmaceutical industry spanning all aspects of commercialization, including strategic planning, marketing, business development, sales leadership, talent identification and development. Her last company doubled in revenue under her leadership and was successfully acquired, providing an opportunity for her to explore other interests and opportunities to make positive contributions beyond pharmaceuticals. Nan has a passion for mentoring talent in high growth businesses. Most recently, she was Senior Vice President of marketing and sales for URL Pharma, Inc. a privately held pharmaceutical company transitioning from a generic to branded business model. During her tenure she built a talented commercial organization and brought new capabilities that enabled URL Pharma to successfully launch its first branded product. Nan founded a successful consulting company Knollwood Partners, focused on providing strategic planning, business development and operational advice to small and medium sized pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies. At Knollwood Partners, Nan’s areas of focus included assessment of possible acquisition targets, strategic planning, portfolio optimization, resource allocation, business development planning, and product commercialization plans. Projects typically included direct collaboration with the CEO and senior executive teams, and in some cases the board of directors. Prior to Knollwood, Nan held several executive roles at Bristol Myers Squibb and Johnson & Johnson. At Bristol Myers Squibb, she was Senior Vice President, US Operations and then Vice President, Global Marketing. Nan managed a $2 billion multi‐asset portfolio and had worldwide P&L responsibility in the Global group. She chaired the cross functional, multinational team responsible for the resource allocation, commercial development and registration strategy. She was a member of the operating committees for the US Primary Care Group and the North American Medicines Group. She led the team through a major restructuring and gained extensive experience in acquisitions and divestitures. In addition, she conceptualized and championed the formation of new business units; resulting in significantly increased profits at BMS. During Nan’s tenure at Johnson & Johnson she achieved a $200 million incremental sales gain and her marketing expertise won her several recognition awards including Marketer of the Year, Sustained Excellence and J&J achievement awards. She is an active board director and has served on the boards of Planned Parenthood of Mercer County, American Repertory Ballet and Canadian Diabetes Association. In these roles she has provided guidance and chaired committees on issues such as capital campaigns, marketing and business strategy, donor loyalty and planned gifts, governance issues, risk mitigation and staffing. In addition, she was a member of the Advisory Board to Acadia University business school and provided oversight to the strategic plan including design of a sustainable curriculum, facilities modernization, student recruitment, alumni affairs and repositioning the school brand identity in a highly competitive academic landscape. Currently, she serves as a Lifescience Advisor to the MaRs discovery district, an innovation center in Toronto that fosters innovation and nurtures entrepreneurial start‐ups through all stages of commercialization. She helps early stage companies accelerate innovation, raise capital and scale commercial operations. Her business acumen, collaborative style and communication skills have enabled her to make valuable contributions to many young companies A native of Nova Scotia, Canada, Ms. Hutchinson has an undergraduate degree in Business Administration from Mount Allison University and an MBA from Boston University.
