Merry Christmas!!
Every year, at this time, we pause to remember what God has done for us
in sending Jesus to the earth to live, die and be resurrected for us.
Ephesians 2:4-8 But God, being rich in mercy, because of His great love
with which He loved us, even when we were dead in our transgressions,
made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), and
raised us up with Him, and seated us with Him in the heavenly places in
Christ Jesus, so that in the ages to come He might show the surpassing
riches of His grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.
Through His mercy and love we can be raised up and seated with Him as
testimony of His great grace. And it all started with a baby in a manger.
The MacKenzie’s are thankful to our Heavenly Father for His mercy and
love, embodied in that little baby born for us so long ago. It is our desire
that you all will know the Christ child as we do, as our Savior and friend.
We want to wish you and yours a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
Eternal Investment
We have had a good year here on the Island. The river that we
rest in is a good picture of God’s grace, mercy and love. Just as
the river never stops flowing, God never stops showing Himself
to be all that we need. The cost of operating this ministry never
goes down, but we always have enough. God provides us with
campers, staff members, volunteers, and churches and people
who are willing to make an eternal investment in the hearts and
souls of children by supporting the ministry of Christian camping
at New Life Island. We have never received a check in the mail
signed by God. But, we have received many checks signed by
God’s people. As the year draws to its close we would like to ask
you to consider being one of those people. Thank You!

Exciting Retreats
Our fall season is a wonderful time with our New Life Island
retreats. At our Women’s Retreat in September, the ladies were
blessed by our speaker, Mrs. Jackie Mitchell and our music leader,
Mrs. Julieann Cunningham. The ladies also were able to hear Mrs.
Karol Watkins share her testimony of how God preserved her
through serious health problems in Africa. Cherie MacKenzie gave
one of her popular cooking demonstrations too. All in all the retreat
was a great time with challenges and blessings for all who
attended.
Our Craft and Quilt retreat had it’s largest attendance ever. The
dining hall was filled with the sounds of laughter and the hum of
sewing machines. The ladies, and men, who attend this retreat
really have a wonderful time of fellowship together. It is amazing to
see what everyone is able to make while they are here.
The Mens Retreat was a great time. Mr. Joe Schloegel was our
speaker with John Wilcox leading the music. Our chapel times
were a great blessing. This retreat had a real focus on “man things” with a workshop lead by Harry Rutter, a former Air Force
survival instructor, an opportunity to operate a backhoe, and home repair and improvement tips from our experts.
We work hard to make sure that our retreats are relevant and fun while being centered around sound Biblical teaching.
If you haven’t attended one of these retreats, you should!
