RETREAT DAY FOR
WOMEN AND MEN RELIGIOUS 2015
Consecrated Life: The “Mysticism of Encounter”

religious men and women have been called by Pope Francis to celebrate and deepen the gift of this life as prophetically understood from
the margins, in the mysticism of encounter and in the challenge of

the depths of our hearts and in the wonder of our lives.

MORNING OF REFLECTION 2015
“Blessed Miriam Teresa: Her Life,
Spirituality and Miracles”
Date: Saturday, July 25, 2015
10:00am -12Noon
Sanctity in New Jersey? One of New Jersey’s own was recently beatified by Pope
Francis. Her life and message stressed the
indwelling of the Holy Trinity in each person
and the universal call to holiness.
Teresa Demjanovich was born in Bayonne,
New Jersey, in 1901. After attending
Bayonne public schools, Teresa entered the College of Saint Elizabeth
in Convent Station, New Jersey and graduated in 1923.
In 1925, she entered the Sisters of Charity at Convent Station. After
profession of vows as a Sister of Charity, Teresa died in Saint Elizabeth Hospital, New Jersey, in 1927. She was 26 years of age. Because
of her saintly life, her spiritual writings and the favors received
through her intercession with God, the Sisters of Charity petitioned
Rome for permission to open her Cause for Beatification and Canonization. Miriam Teresa was beatified on October 4th, 2014, in Sacred
Heart Basilica, Newark, NJ.
This day will offer the opportunity to learn about Sister Miriam
Teresa’s life and spirituality. We will be invited to grow in our own
spiritual journey through opening ourselves more deeply to our baptismal call to holiness, and to dwell within the heart of the Trinity.
Presenter: Diane Collesano, SC, has served in Secondary Education as a teacher and principal. With a profound interest in ecological
theology, she pursued graduate studies in systematic theology. She
