I believe the drama will speak to each of us, as it deals with issues that you and I face on a daily basis: Control (or lack of it), Violence (spoken and acted), Fear, Integrity, Greed, the Need to be Loved, and Loss, among others. Dramatists include: Tashi Guzman, Paul Harrington, Allison Lantagne, Al and Peg Marrocco, Robyn Marsh, Marcia Peck, Pat Saunders, Lee Spach, and Gordon Wood. Good Friday can be a uniquely meaningful time in the life of the church. We gather to remember together what Jesus did for us – not because He was forced to, but because He chose to. We gather to confess that He died for OUR sin – yours and mine. We gather to be reminded that we are each fiercely loved by God– not for what we do, or who we are, or where we come from but simply because His nature and character are love. Peeps Diorama Contest (optional) Children who will be participating on this day are welcome to re-create a scene from the Bible using Peeps and a shoe box. If you've never heard of this before Google "Peeps Diorama Contest". It's a really fun activity! Each child must re-create a scene from a Bible story, Parable or a Biblical concept (i.e Love, Joy, Peace... Fruits Of The Spirit...that sort of thing) and it must fit in a shoe box. 2. Children can use whatever materials or props they need that will fit in a shoe box of any size. 3. The child must attach a little sign or label somewhere stating what their Diorama is depicting and put their name on the bottom where it isn't visible. (It must be obvious that the child did most of the work!) 4. The children will be divided into 2 age categories: Preschool1st Grade and 2nd- 4th. There will be judges and winners from each age group. There will be small prizes for the winners. Participants are asked to bring in their Dioramas the day of the hunt and put them on the table marked with their age categories. The judging will take place during the egg hunt and winners announced once everyone is back inside the fellowship hall following the hunt. YOU ARE ENCOURAGED TO INVITE FRIENDS AND FAMILY! ALSO.... we are in need of VOLUNTEERS to help stuff the many, many eggs we will need to put out. Candy donations for the eggs are very much needed and appreciated! Please see Sue Holuk or Melissa Mietzner with any questions. 3 Moms and Tots Play Group Ministry Needs (Thursday Mornings) Mom ‘n Tots meets every Thursday from 9:30 - 11:30 am at New Colony Baptist Church in their lower level. (Ages infant to Pre-K.) We have stories, songs, games and craft projects that go along with our monthly themes. We serve snacks and coffee for the parents ;). Parents are welcome to bring a sack lunch as many parents stay and have lunch together after play group is officially "done" for the day. FREE. No registration necessary! Thanks! 4 There are many ministry opportunities in our church. √ Volunteer needed to fill regular spot in the preschool room on the 4th Sundays of the month during the worship service. √ Several (5) regular volunteers to staff the infant and preschool √ √ rooms on the 5th Sundays of the month during the worship service (June, August and November 2014) Volunteers to pick up a Billerica couple for Sunday Services on the 3rd Sundays of the month. Volunteers to help staff Super Summer for the month of July. Please see a member of staff or call the church office if you are interested in helping with any of these important ministries. Music Notes Children’s Choir—for ages 4yrs-1st grade will begin on Sunday afternoon, April 6 (please note change) from 4-5 p.m. If your child is interested, please let Angie know asap so that we can get a CD to him or her. 5
