PARISH COMMUNITY CENTRE
The Terms and Conditions for the Hire of the Parish Community Centre are available from
the Parish Office. Anyone wanting to use the Parish Community centre needs to book
through the Parish Office.
Notice from Parish Community Centre
Fundraising Committee.
Our final fundraiser for the Parish Community Centre will be on
Saturday October 18th after Mass. We are hoping for a great
turnout so your support would be appreciated to make this a successful
event.
Please save the date for a great evening of food and
entertainment. More information will be available at a later date.
Guest entertainers will be Colin Driscoll. Colin is a well know Bush
Poet. Here is a brief summary from his website.
“I was raised on a small sheep and wheat farm at Barkly, in the Wimmera
District of Victoria before moving to Geelong to live and work.
I have travelled extensively throughout Outback Australia, where I have
worked as a tour guide in such iconic places as Uluru, Kakadu, The Gulf
of Carpentaria and The Kimberley.
I have been writing and performing my bush poetry since the mid 1990s,
gaining my inspirations from those innocent days growing up on the
farm, as well as the sights I have seen, the places I have visited and the
fascinating people I have met during my travels around Australia.
In my poetry I strive to capture the colours, the humour, the hardships
and the spirit of Australia in a style that saw me win the prestigious
‘Golden Damper Award’ at the 2009 Tamworth Bush Poetry
Competition.
These days I enjoy travelling around this beautiful country promoting my
poetry and performing at festivals, functions and events.
As we celebrate, we acknowledge the Indigenous owners of the land on which The Church of The Immaculate
Conception is built, the Tjapwurong people, and we respect the presence of the spirits of their ancestors among us.

A VOCATION VIEW
Jesus knew that when we are committed to whatever we are
doing no obstacle can prevent us from reaching our goal. So
Jesus could say: "If you will not take up your cross and come
after me you are not worthy of me."
