Our principal Mr. Ryan indicated that the voluntary giving of time, effort or kindness helps create a safe, caring school environment and becomes part of our school’s best practices. Mr. & Mrs. Brian & Gladys Jesse representing Charity Farms were invited to our assembly. Charity Farms is the major community fundraising venture in support of our school. Mr. Ryan reminded students that our new kitchen, stage, tables & chairs were purchased for us by Charity Farms. Have you considered APPRENTICESHIP? Grades 6-12 students had many good questions for Paul Blankestijn of the Saskatchewan Apprenticeship and Trade Certification Commission during his presentation at Pangman School on Dec. 16. Students learned that apprenticeship means you spend 85% of the time learning a trade on-the-job while earning a wage, and 15% learning in school. Paul indicated that most employers prefer to hire employees who have Grade 12. Mr. & Mrs. Jesse were presented with tokens of appreciation from students and staff. During the assembly, two of our students received a heartwarming surprise from the Grade 11 and 12 class who showed that they understand the true meaning of Christmas. Their thoughtful acts of kindness can be seen on the video they prepared which is on the school website. RCMP officers Todd McIntosh & Harpreet Singh visited our school Dec. 16 and spoke to students about pedestrian safety in winter. They reminded us to continue to look both ways when crossing the street especially important when we are all bundled up with scarves and hoods. Dan Hardern from our school division also spoke to our high school students on Dec. 16. He outlined the opportunities our students have to explore career options in the trades while earning Grade 12 credits. Details on SECPSD website.
