The students and staff have had a very busy past couple of weeks, and are in need of a well deserved break. My hat is off to our amazing staff at Pinewood for all the hard work and time that went into organizing, practicing, decorating and perfecting the Operetta, “The Big Chill”. We are hoping that parents, grandparents, caregivers, family friends, etc., will be able to attend one of our two showings. On behalf of the staff, Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! Please stop by the main hallway and have a look through. Any unclaimed items will be given to charity. Christmas Concert Times We will have two performances of our Christmas Concert “The Big Chill”. The first performance will take place on Wednesday, December 17 at 1:30pm., and the second performance is at 11:15am on Thursday, December 18. We hope you can make it to one of the performances! We would like to thank the Pinewood Parent Advisory Council for all their hard work during the school year. PAC members and parents have been very busy with the Cash Calendar fundraiser, hot lunches, organizing bottles drives, and much more. We would also like to thank parents, family and friends who supported Pinewood School by supporting the various fundraising projects. The money earned helps support divisions, school activities, student bussing, playground purchases and more. Page 3 Pinewood Press 1. “HELPING HANDS CHRISTMAS HAMPERS” - Thank you so much to everyone who has donated items to the St. Vincent de Paul hampers. They will be greatly appreciated by the many families in need. Well done Pinewood families! 2. “SPCA DOG BONE TREE” - Our tree is filling up with dog bones. Mrs. Baldridge and two leadership students will take the money collected (so far we have over $78) to the SPCA on Thursday! The dogs and SPCA thank you very much! Ready, Set, Learn We are looking for a volunteer to facilitate our Ready, Set, Learn program in the new year for 3-5 year old children. If you are interested, please contact Mrs. Baldridge. You must have a current criminal record check done with the school district. PARKING LOT SAFETY For student safety, please remember that the parking lot is NOT to be used to drop off or pick up students. Please park or drop off along Campbell Ave or Olds Street so that students can use the sidewalk. The first row of stalls near the school is reserved for staff parking only. If you must park in the school parking lot, please use the row facing Campbell Ave. Our next Parent Advisory Council Meeting: Thursday, January 15th from 6:00—7:00 pm, in the School Library. All parents are welcome to attend. (There will be no December meeting.) PAC Cash Calendar Fundraiser—Thank you to all parents who have helped with selling cash calendars.
