The call is managed by Subdirección General de Proyectos Internacionales (SGPINT). Please note that the Spanish partners awarded funds in this call will be obliged by the regulations established in the corresponding national call (APCIN 2016) and by the funding limits established below. Purpose of funding Initial funding precommitment The projects funded by the Ministerio de Economía y Competitividad (MINECO) must be in line with the main objectives described in the Programa Estatal. The participation of MINECO aims at fostering the participation of Spanish research groups in international consortiums in the European Research Area. Additional eligibility criteria - Minimum of three consortium partners (requesting funding) from three different countries participating in the M-ERA.NET call 2015 of which at least one partner, besides the Spanish partner, is European. - Principal Investigators of Spanish teams must be eligible according to the call "Acciones de Programación Conjunta Internacional 2016" (APCIN 2016). Please see "Acciones de Programación Conjunta Internacional 2014" (APCIN 2014) («BOE» núm. 192, de 8 de agosto de 2014, pages 63854 to 63899) or the latest corresponding national call as a tentative reference for the eligibility of the Principal Investigator and the research teams - Researchers are not allowed to apply for funding in more than one proposal of this call as principal investigators. Incompatibility: Principal investigators who have been granted through calls APCIN 2014 or APCIN 2015 won’t be eligible to request funding in APCIN 2016. This is relevant to Spanish researchers applying to both M-ERA 2014 and M-ERA 2015, since PIs granted through M-ERA 2014 will be declared non-eligible at the pre-proposal stage. - The final decision will take into account the transnational evaluation of the cooperative project and the financial resources available. Only excellent projects where international collaboration is a clear added value will be funded. Eligible costs - Personnel costs for temporary contracts. Fellowships (“becas”) are not eligible. - Current costs such as those incurred in purchasing small scientific equipment, consumables, travelling expenses and other costs that can be properly justified as necessary to carry out the proposed activities - Indirect costs (overheads) or clinical assays (proofs of concept, proofs of principle) are not eligible for funding. Maximum funding: - For simulation and theory groups: Up to 50.000 € per project partner (up to 85.000 € per project for the whole Spanish part in case more than one Spanish partner participates in the same proposal); - For experimental groups: 90.000 € per project partner (up to 125.000 € per project for the whole Spanish part in case more than one Spanish partner participates in the same proposal); - Up to 20.000 € of additional funds if a Spanish partner coordinates the project. Applicants are strongly requested to keep their budget within the above mentioned limits. Failure to do so will prevent MINECO for granting elegibility within this ERANET Call. Further instructions As stated in the call text, the project leader of each consortium must submit the full proposal electronically to the common Call Secretariat. Once the transnational evaluation procedure has been completed and the researchers involved have been notified by M-ERA, the Spanish applicants who have been selected for funding should formally apply to the call "Acciones de Programación Conjunta Internacional 2016" (APCIN 2016) of the Programa Estatal de Investigación, Desarrollo e Innovación Orientada a los Retos de la Sociedad.
