Eligible
institutions
The eligible entities for MINECO funding are:
• Universities and other public research institutions, including public
foundations
• Private non-profit research institutions performing RTD activities in Spain
• Technological centres
Although private firms will not be funded through this call by the MINECO,
the Spanish private sector is very much welcome to participate as associate

other national or regional calls.
Additional
eligibility
criteria
- Minimum of three consortium partners (requesting funding) from three
different countries participating in the M-ERA.NET call 2015 of which at
least one partner, besides the Spanish partner, is European.
- Principal Investigators of Spanish teams must be eligible according to the
call "Acciones de Programación Conjunta Internacional 2016" (APCIN 2016).
Please see "Acciones de Programación Conjunta Internacional 2014" (APCIN
2014) («BOE» núm. 192, de 8 de agosto de 2014, pages 63854 to 63899) or
the latest corresponding national call as a tentative reference for the
eligibility of the Principal Investigator and the research teams
- Researchers are not allowed to apply for funding in more than one
proposal of this call as principal investigators.
Incompatibility: Principal investigators who have been granted
through calls APCIN 2014 or APCIN 2015 won’t be eligible to request
funding in APCIN 2016. This is relevant to Spanish researchers applying
to both M-ERA 2014 and M-ERA 2015, since PIs granted through M-ERA
2014 will be declared non-eligible at the pre-proposal stage.
- The final decision will take into account the transnational evaluation of the
cooperative project and the financial resources available. Only excellent
projects where international collaboration is a clear added value will be
funded.
Eligible costs
- Personnel costs for temporary contracts. Fellowships (“becas”) are not
eligible.
- Current costs such as those incurred in purchasing small scientific
equipment, consumables, travelling expenses and other costs that can be
properly justified as necessary to carry out the proposed activities
- Indirect costs (overheads) or clinical assays (proofs of concept, proofs of
principle) are not eligible for funding.

Funding rates
(approx.)
Maximum funding:
-
For simulation and theory groups: Up to 50.000 € per project partner
(up to 85.000 € per project for the whole Spanish part in case more than
one Spanish partner participates in the same proposal);
-
For experimental groups: 90.000 € per project partner (up to 125.000 €
per project for the whole Spanish part in case more than one Spanish
